Mission The Kentucky Board of Cosmetology’s mission is to serve the Commonwealth by providing educational, health, and regulatory standards for all aspects of the beauty industry.  License Printing Delay Notice Due to a high volume of calls and limited staff the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology would like to notify all professional license holders of the 2021 license print delay. At this time if you have renewed or applied for a 2021 license and have not received your hard copy, since completing a renewal beginning July 1, 2020, please continue to post your license with the expiration date of 6/30/2020 along with a copy of your renewal payment receipt if possible. If you need a formal verification of a license status, please refer to our License Verification portal available below.  KENTUCKY BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY HAS RELOCATED Please use the following address for mailing purposes 1049 US HWY 127 Annex #2, Frankfort KY, 40601. Due to the mandated orders issued by Governor Andy Beshear to combat the COVID-19 pandemic the Board office is still closed to the public and cannot accept walk-in business until further notice.  License Renewals Will Remain Open Through December 31st 2020 The link to renew a personal or business license is still available until December 31st, 2020​. All license renewals are to be processed online with the exception of salons requiring a manager change and KCTCS school licenses. Please note Due to the extended closure of facilities licensed by this agency during the COVID-19 pandemic, the board has extended the renewal period from July 1-July 30 to July 1, 2020-December 31, 2020.
