Center for Entrepreneurship The Center for Entrepreneurship fosters entrepreneurial mindsets among students and faculty, through education, research and outreach programs, by developing capabilities to create products and services that add social and economic value to society. Center informationThe KU Center for Entrepreneurship, housed in the School of Business, focuses on education, research and outreach programs to provide experiential learning opportunities.In education, a minor and certificate are offered for business students and non-business students.In research, the Center for Entrepreneurship supports other KU centers and schools by providing an entrepreneurial application for research grant efforts.In outreach programs, activities provide excellent experiential learning opportunities for student teams and provide regional organizations with new venture plans and consulting solutions to address growth inhibiting challenges.These programs are funded from a grant provided by the Economic Development Administration of U.S. Department of Commerce with matching funds being provided by generous KU alumni. KU is one of only 40 universities in the country to receive this type of grant.This grant also provides financial support to Jayhawk Consulting; RedTire; the Morris New Venture Business Plan Competition; the certificate in entrepreneurship for undergraduate and graduate non-business students; and the KU Entrepreneurship Club.Contact Wallace W. Startup School @ KU Offered at the Lawrence campus and Medical Center campus in Kansas City, Startup School @ KU offers fast-track experiential learning for commercialization of faculty technologies and new venture creation for students. CURE Commercializing University Research through Entrepreneurship (CURE) helps bridge the gap between federally funded basic research and potential commercial applications through in-market testing of the inventions’ concepts and prototypes. CURE has completed two Startup Schools @ KU at the KU Medical Center, which assists the major KC hospitals’ research staff with commercialization of their technologies. List Jayhawk Consulting Jayhawk Consulting helps clients grow through data analysis and project development and offers KU students experiential learning as work for clients. Since 2010, Jayhawk Consulting has assisted more than 100 organizations. RedTire Redefining Retirement (RedTire) helps facilitate the transfer of ownership of businesses to college graduates with the expertise to manage a business.
