When you stay at the huts, you not only receive a comfortable backcountry experience in the western mountains of Maine, your visit also helps support our mission to provide inviting backcountry experiences that inspire reverence for Maine's western mountains, forests, and waters and help strengthen the local economy.

Flagstaff Lake Hut, Poplar Stream Hut & Stratton Brook Hut are available to rent this summer/fall as a full hut, self-service rental and are not open to public use. Grand Falls Hut is closed. To make a reservation, please e-mail us at lodging@mainehuts.org

Huts:

Flagstaff Lake Hut, Poplar Stream & Stratton Brook Hut are open for full hut group rentals this summer and fall. If you are interested in booking a full hut, please email us at lodging@mainehuts.org.

Important Information to review before booking your online reservation.

COVID Policy: All guests, staff & volunteers (who are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination) must be fully vaccinated against COVID19 at least 2 weeks prior to visiting Maine Huts & Trails. For additional information regarding our COVID-19 policy, please click here. At this time all visitors up a the hut must wear a mask in the common areas. 
 Grand Falls is currently closed. Trails will not be maintained out to Grand Falls this season. 

The Maine Hut Trail is open. Enjoy the trails! Please visit the Carrabassett trails page here for the most updated trail information.

The bridges along the Dead River stretch of the MH Trail to Grand Falls Hut are in poor shape and the trail has not been mowed. We do not advise traveling on this trail at this time. Plans to repair and upgrade the bridges in 2022 are underway.
