The chirping of birds in the spring, the warm summer sun, the rustling of autumn leaves and the tingle of cold winter air on the skin. Every year is shaped by recurring events that retain the tried and tested, but also introduce new things. A new special exhibition at Wendt & Kühn World in Grünhainichen captures the atmosphere of the four seasons in a 360 degree view using a wealth of previously unseen private “snaps” and professional photographs, supported by figurines and documents from the company archives.

The idea and execution could not have come at a more opportune moment, as our Gold Edition No. 15 carries the name “The Mindful One”. The angel reminds us that even the most ordinary, everyday things can seem like small miracles if we give them our full care and attention. The heavenly messenger carries in its hands a branch covered in 24-karat gold. The gently curved leaves, delicately worked stems and fine veins of the branch make it a symbol of how we should look after ourselves and others, together with nature and all its treasures. The angel with gold-plated base is available in a strictly limited edition – only 22,222 of these figurines will allow their owners to experience the magic of the moment.

One name is inextricably linked with Wendt & Kühn: Olly Wendt (née Sommer). To mark her 125th birthday in 2021 we have produced a book in a limited edition of 1,920 copies. The number of copies corresponds to the year in which this talented designer started working at the Grünhainichen manufactory, five years after the foundation of Wendt & Kühn.
Through a series of individual episodes emerges an authentic portrait of this exceptional personality.
