The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend and related expenses for a twelve-month period beginning in July. Apply for the Fellowship online by Oct 19, 2020Jack DiMatteo completed his Master of Public Policy in May 2019 at the University of Virginia Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. At the Batten School, Jack completed his capstone project with the Virginia Department of Health Injury and Violence Prevention Program. The project focused on strategies for the Department of Health to expand access to medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder throughout Virginia. Jack completed his graduate internship with When We All Vote, a nonpartisan voter registration and participation organization launched in the summer of 2018. Prior to entering graduate school in Charlottesville, Jack graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from La Salle University in Philadelphia. He is originally from Deerfield, Illinois.I am deeply grateful to have been selected as a David A. Winston Health Policy Fellow. It is an honor to join a long tradition of fellows who have used this opportunity to begin careers dedicated to addressing some of the nation's most pressing and complex health care challenges. I am excited to begin my policy career in a similar way and am eager to learn from board members, former fellows, and other health care experts throughout Washington, D.C. Jack DiMatteo FellowAlexander Urry is a recent graduate of the Yale School of Public Health where he received his MPH in Healthcare Management. While at Yale, Alexander advised legislators in the Connecticut General Assembly on drug pricing policy, co-chaired a case competition focused on improving home health care services, and was Treasurer for the Graduate and Professional Student Senate. Previously, Alexander interned on the House Appropriations Committee assisting staff on the Subcommittee for Labor, HHS and Education through the Fiscal Year 2019 appropriations process. In that position, he was also selected to be a Stennis Center Congressional Intern. Prior to Yale, Alexander conducted research at the Gladstone Institute on stem cell therapies for stroke. He graduated from Occidental College with a BA in Biochemistry where he conducted research as a Richter Scholar studying hypovitaminosis A in Guatemala. He is a former Winston Scholar and his writing has been featured in publications such as STAT, Al Jazeera, and the Salt Lake City Tribune.“I feel extremely fortunate and humbled to have been selected as one of the two 2019-2020 David A.
