on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Since 1955, the United Nations congresses on crime prevention and criminal justice have brought together high-level representatives of Governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, and criminal justice professionals and scholars, to discuss common concerns, share experiences and seek viable solutions to problems related to crime prevention and criminal justice. Latest Notice UN Congress postponed - new dates 7 to 12 March 2021 12/11/2019 The 14th UN Crime Congress will be held from 7 to 12 March 2021, with pre-session consultations on 6 March 2021. The restructured Congress will be six-days instead of the original eight-days. THE SCHEDULE IS NOW ON THE WEBSITE. . Links Registration Information Attachments No attachments All Notices Ancillary Meeting An ancillary meeting is a meeting which can be in the form of a class, discussion, lecture, workshop, demonstration or similar presentation. As the name implies, ancillary meetings are subordinate to the official United Nations meetings. They are open to all delegates and the material presented becomes part of the public domain. Professional Meetings Professional meetings are usually called by the head of a professional or regional association and can be limited to invited guests and members. In some cases a professional meeting may be organized during the Congress in order to allow individuals of the same profession (e.g. heads of airport tower security) to meet. Specialized Meetings Specialized meetings can be highly technical and if they cover a specific item where security is a concern (e.g. training of police cybercrime technicians) they are open only to those specifically invited. Submit Publication Publication List Exhibits The process for applying to host an exhibit at the 14th Congress will be handled in total by the Japanese Ministry of Justice via their Congress website.

Go to Site Volunteer No individuals working on the ancillary meetings and related activities are paid, including the Coordinator of Ancillary Meetings and Non-governmental Activities and the UN-caliber editors, supervisors and interpreters. Opportunities exist for volunteers and interns. The work is not only interesting, but volunteers are given full access to Congress activities.
