It has amazing anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.  Read MoreShare this:FacebookTwitterPinterestPrint Because the joy is in the climb itself.   This quote from the chapter reminded me of the moment last year when this realization hit me (Suzanne).  It dawned on me that I had to stop trying to just reach the goal I had been working on and embrace and fall in the love with the process of reaching that goal (hence the meme).  I finally realized that once I met that particular goal that it did not mean I had reached the pinnacle of my life.  What would mean is that I had reached a goal at which time I would either have to redefine that goal into an improved goal, or work on some new ones.  The wisdom of getting a wee bit older allowed me to realize that the enjoyable parts of life were working towards the goals, dreaming about reaching the goals, and the process itself.  The actual moment that I hit the goal although amazing would only last an instant.  Unless I planned on dropping dead in that very moment (which I wasn t), I would have to set new goals.  It was quite freeing to realize that the process itself we have to learn to love.  I guess I realized (in the words of Steven Tyler in one of my favorite Aerosmith songs, Amazing) Life s a journey, not a destination .I (Yvonne) really enjoyed this chapter. Life is a series of problems. We as humans are programmed to look for and solve problems. Happiness comes from solving said problems. If you avoid them, you will not find happiness.When we don t have any real problems to solve, we make things bigger than they need to be because it s human nature. Ever deal with someone all upset over something you think is silly?We can t expect to find happiness once we accomplish something or acquire something. You can t expect to find happiness when you finally get that car, or that house, or that job. Once you achieve that goal, your feelings will change and you will need something else to focus on. Like Suzanne said happiness comes from the process of working towards a goal.
