Monroe Fire Company is excited to announce that beginning the evening of Sunday, October 18th, we will be kicking off our online raffles. You will be able to purchase chances on each item via Square using the Facebook Page feed located in the right hand column or on our Facebook page. Once all chances for a particular item are sold out, a live drawing of the winner will be held. We feel this will be a better option for our township kids.Monday we are asking Lisburn Meadows and White Rock Acres families to please visit the township building at 7 PM to see Santa. The Rec Board has a nice setup with snacks and music.Once again, Santa will be arriving on the fire engine to visit the residents of Monroe Township. It’s that time of year and Monroe Fire Company is proud to once again host Santa Claus and his friends as we escort him across the township to visit your families. (Photo by: Michael Bupp The Sentinel, Cumberlink.com)July 19 Monroe firefighters responded to a garage fire in the 800 block of Lisburn Road in South Middleton Township. The incident was dispatched at 7:40 AM.Monroe responded with Engine 225 and Tanker 25 and remain on the scene until nearly 11:00 AM.The fire occurred in a large, detached pole barn that was used to store several vehicles.Because of the rural location of the fire, a number of tankers were used to shuttle water to the incident site.In addition to battling the fire, crews had to battle high temperatures and oppressive humidity.
