True to its role as an educational museum,these exhibits allow for visitors to understand and examine historicaldocuments and information for themselves. The museum, while acknowledgingthe tragedy thatover 50 million people diedduring World War 2, retains its non-biased status by refraining from makingpolitical judgments of any sort. Neither does it make thestandard, uninformative, and clichedhistorical judgement that the victor of the war was "good"and that the loser of the war was "bad." Instead, all materials and resourcesare provided as a documentation of the time period and as scholastic resourceswith notes for clarification. No biased judgments, slanderous labels orchildish name calling exist here as they do in most of the writings on thistopic.The Museum's chief concern is to provide documents and information thatshed light on Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist Party. Because ofthe numerous contradicting, disjoint, biased, confused, and deficientinterpretations that exist, few scholars are able to gather the facts andto understand and explain them coherently. Whether this failure is from alack of information, scholarship ability, or honesty is unimportant. What isimportant is that historical information be made freely available and gatheredinto exhibits that allow researchers to derive indepedent conclusions fromthe relatively well preserved writings of this time period.Ideological StatementThe teaching of history should convey only facts and be free from politicalmotives, personal opinions, biases, propaganda, and other common tacticsof distortion. Every claim that is made about history should also beaccompanied by documentation proving its basis. Only responsible scholarshipand teaching should be permitted.
