These mules caught my eye last nite. Check out the Target Rebe ($24.99) Size 7.5. I wear 7.5 in most shoes. If its a heel and esp J Crew heels, I take an 8. These are 7.5 and fit exactly. If my feet were to get toasty and swell a little, they might stick out the back a bit more. They felt comfortable in this size, but Id want to try the 8. I have a M width foot. Ill guess that if youre in-between sizes and have a wider foot, take the larger of your two sizes. At this price, of course theyre not real leather. They look pretty good, though, and caught my eye in the shoe aisle. I would totally get these, wear them a few times for the trend and move on. Thumbsup.

Gucci New Fur Princeton Mules ($995) The originator of this trend. I think the fur lines the entire interior of these mules. Not the case with the Target mules. Steve Madden made a version as well called the Jill. I like the fact that theyre leather, but kind of like the Target ones better.

Gigis Gone Shopping Essentially Hip Me
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen my recent 9-picture banner sharing my username name change from gigisgoneshopping to essentiallyhipme.  I wrote a big update in pic 6  of 9 and finished in pic 5 of 9.

Im no longer posting on my other 2 Facebook pages, gigiofca and gigisgoneshopping. I have a new Facebook page. I havent gotten too active on there as its brand new. Content will begin to appear over time, so join me over there, too. Im slowly rolling out these changes, but still have to adjust, mentally.

I purchased a couple of domains early last year, but was unsure about how to transition to adding new content, like my beloved doTERRA essential oils and whatever else comes to mind. I had some technical questions and I finally grasped what I need to do. I wont have the new site created until next year, but I want to start dropping some of the reviews I write in my head. We still need to talk retail! So instead of leaving this site dormant and doing nothing, Ill create content and put it here. Ill let you know when were moving to the new site. It wont be for awhile. In the meantime, things have changed! I have a learning curve again with blogging, so Im going to try to write something every day til the end of the year.

Puckered gingham dress with eyelet trim (SU17, $158) – It runs in regular 000-16 (G6737) and tall T8-T16 (G6739). If it came in petite, its sold out. My guess is that it did not come in petite. The color is black (BLA). 100% cotton.

I think I tried on a size 6. My apologies for not being 100% sure. The empire style feels very comfortable because the fabric flows out from the seam, on down. Theres no cling. However, its not the most flattering style for me. I think it adds a lot of fabric. The print is a factor in adding visual weight, as well. The eyelet trim is at the bottom of the dress. Overall, I like the dress even if its not for me. The eyelet trim wasnt necessary, imo.

The Feeling
Overall, I like the style. Yay for pockets and being 100% cotton.

One-shoulder ruffle dress in seersucker – Size 6 (SU17, $158) – It runs in regular 00-14 (G3473), petite P0-P12 (G4673) and tall T8-T16 (G5924). Petite sizes usually begin at 00, but Im only seeing P0 online at the moment. Tall sizes usually begin at T2, but only T8 and up is online at the moment. The dress was recently cut to $129.99.

The color is called lagoon white. 100% cotton. Color choices are bistro blue (BBL) and papaya white (PWH) 100% cotton. The papaya white (pink stripe) might be online or limited stores, only.

The shape of the dress is a sheath, which always fits well for me at J. Crew. I like that aspect of it, even with it looking a bit poochy in at my middle. The narrow seam and where it hits on me reveals whether Ive been hitting my fitness. Or not. I liked the seersucker fabric and stripes. The shoulder ruffle felt a bit flouncy. I find that the flouncier a ruffle feels, the more occasion oriented it feels, esp the one-shoulder ruffles. I would try adding a 2 or so brown belt across the middle and flat, brown sandals to make it more casual. I mightve just talked myself into reconsidering this dress. lol

As I shared on this Facebook video, Im really into pins. I would try adding a pin for visual interest and using it to manipulate the look of the ruffle a bit. From what I recall, there are no pockets.

I was very happy to see this in-store and be able to try it on. If youre not following Ema/Crazy About J Crew on Instagram, you should. Her quick reviews are very helpful and the reason I looked for this dress in the store.

Tiered maxi dress in stripe Size 6 (SU17, $148) It runs in regular 000-16 (G5137), petite P00-P12 (G5923) and tall T2-T16 (G5924). The color is called lagoon white. 100% cotton. The dress is $168 in-store vs. $148 online. Its one of a few price discrepancies Ive seen in the most recent rollout.

J. Crew dresses with a similar bodice often dont zip easily from the waist up. I expected to size up one to an 8, but went ahead and tried a 6. It fit perfectly. Of course I love the stripes. Love the bow as well. I dont recall if the belt is attached in any way. If you can remove it, replacing it with a navy or brown belt would create another look.

The straps are adjustable, like bra straps (see 2nd pic). I definitely had to take advantage of that detail.

I absolutely loved how I felt in this dress. Remember, Im 51, so I was surprised that the regular fit so well. My legs are proportionate to slightly longer for my height. If you have shorter legs, the dress will be longer.

Now. Where to wear it. One of the store managers said to a winery. Thats an excellent idea, but I probably wont be going to one any time soon. My birthday and another event are in July. It will probably be very casual, but its at the beach so this would be nice. And thentheres a good chance it will just sit. It felt casual far more than dressy. However, it felt just a little dramatic to be a day dress.

Chime in…

I happened to be up and on the site last nite when jcrewfactory.com started loading in the new arrivals. I really like a good number of them. It reminds me of what Id said earlier in the day in my Facebook Live about how the Factory Swiss dot top I was wearing looked very much like retail.

Thats the feeling I get from some of the new arrivals. Of course, Factory productions are often retail cousins from 6-12 mo prior. However, the quality of some of the Factory items has improved to the point that theyre close to par with retail. Here are some of the items that made my eyes pop:

Anything catch your eye? I got the denim dress, stripe midi skirt and the plaid shirt dress. I think one or two of these are online only. So while youre reading descriptions, make sure to note that.
