In the space of just about 3 months (100 days), some 1 million people were murdered. But despite this most ugly and evil chapter in its history, today, Rwanda has become a beacon of hope to the rest of Africa. It is emerging as one of the cleanest, safest, and most developed African countries.For almost two decades now, its national capital and largest city, Kigali, has been the venue of an annual event that offers hope. One that proclaims a message of an Africa that ought to rise—and is rising.
