FOR OUR PATIENTS’ SAFETY DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS Due to the coronavirus, patients with appointments at locations other than Saint Francis Hospital, ONLY ONE SUPPORT PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 16 are allowed in the practice at this time. No children under the age of 16. Saint Francis Hospital is not allowing any visitors.During this time, we will allow Facetime or Skype (no videotaping) during your ultrasound. If you have traveled outside of the US, have a fever, have symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, nausea, diarrhea, loss of taste/smell or have come in contact with someone who has traveled, or someone who has any symptoms please contact our office immediately at (302) 319-5680 to reschedule your appointment. All patients will be screened for illness at check-in. If you have results from COVID testing pending, you will be able to be seen in the office once negative results are received. When you are pregnant, you want the best medical care to ensure your baby is born healthy. You also want to stay healthy enough to care for your newborn. If you have complications during your pregnancy, the Delaware Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine of Christiana Care has the expertise to help. The center’s maternal fetal medicine specialists have advanced training and experience to care for you if your pregnancy is high risk due to medical, surgical or obstetrical factors. As part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Christiana Care, we're one of the nation's top providers of obstetric services working with one of the largest and most experienced maternity centers and neonatal intensive care units in the Delaware Valley, Christiana Hospital. Technically-advanced equipment and facilities help us diagnose your baby’s risks for genetic, growth and structural differences. Some babies can be treated with medications or through surgery while still in your uterus. The center also integrates comprehensive genetics counseling to help our doctors with diagnoses and you and your family make decisions about medical care for your baby. Appointments with the center are made by referral through your primary obstetrician. When complications arise, we give our smallest patients and their mothers special care. Maternal and Fetal Medicine Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Perinatology) specializes in caring for women whose pregnancies are considered to be at high risk due to medical, surgical and obstetrical risk factors. Our perinatal specialist are trained in prenatal diagnosis and provide services to families with fetuses who have risk factors for genetic, growth and structural differences. The division integrates comprehensive genetics counseling to assist in the diagnoses, treatment and decision making for patients and families. The Delaware Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine is associated with the only tertiary care center in the state of Delaware. We provide comprehensive care not only in Delaware but to adjoining states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey. Appointments are made by referral through your primary obstetrician only.
