However, there was no statistically significant intervention effect on students’ self-reports of physical and relational aggression and victimization. EVOLVE: Court-Mandated Program for Serious Male Batterers Program Summary: This is a court-mandated, post-conviction intervention for males at high-risk for perpetrating family violence. The program is designed to decrease family violence through cognitive–behavioral approaches. The program is rated Promising. There was a statistically significant lower likelihood of arrest for any offense for participants, compared with the control group. However, there were no statistically significant differences found between the groups in family violence arrests. Situational Theft Prevention on a University Campus Program Summary: This program used a randomized experimental design to test the effects of a situational theft prevention strategy to reduce the theft of property (i.e., dry erase markers labeled with an anti-theft message) from classrooms at a university in Louisiana. The program is rated Promising. Treatment classrooms with labeled markers had a statistically significant lower likelihood of having the markers removed, compared with control classrooms that received markers without the message. Project Arrive Program Summary: This is a group mentoring intervention for students at risk of drop out. The program is rated No Effects. Compared with a comparison group, participants received more credits and statistically significant higher scores in school support, belonging, and meaningful participation; peer caring relationships; prosocial peers; home meaningful participation; and problem solving; but not in rates of juvenile offenses, GPAs, instructional time received, or perceptions of home support and self-awareness. Strength at Home Couples (SAH-C) Program to Prevent Military Partner Violence Program Summary: This is a cognitive–behavioral, trauma-informed group intervention that is designed to prevent relationship conflict and intimate partner violence (IPV) among military couples. The program is rated Promising. There were statistically significant reductions in physical and psychological IPV for the treatment group, compared with the control group. Early Family/Parent Training Programs Practice Summary: This practice includes programs that seek to provide families and parents with training and skills to help promote their children’s physical, mental, and social skills. The practice is rated Effective for reducing child problem behaviors for children whose families participated in early family/parent training programs, compared with control group children whose families did not participate in programming. Expressive Writing Interventions for Adolescents Practice Summary: This is a brief psychosocial intervention, also called written emotional disclosure. Expressive writing interventions are individually focused and designed to improve emotional expression and processing during adaptation to stressful situations. The goal is to improve psychological and physical health. The practice is rated Effective for improving adolescents’ problem behaviors, internalizing behaviors, and school participation, and rated No Effects for school performance. Meditation for Female Trauma IPV Survivors with Co-Occurring Disorders Program Summary: This is a therapeutic program that used meditation to improve mental health outcomes for female survivors of interpersonal violence with co-occurring disorders. The program is rated Promising. Women in the treatment group who participated in the meditation curriculum had a statistically significant fewer number of mental health and trauma symptoms, and a higher level of reliable change in mental health and trauma symptoms, compared with women in the control group who received services as usual. SafeCare© Program Summary: This is a home-visitation program that aims to prevent and address factors associated with child abuse and neglect. The program is rated Promising. Parents in the SafeCare group demonstrated statistically significant decreases in depression symptoms and risk of child protective services recidivism, compared with parents in the control group. However, there were no statistically significant differences in the risk of child physical abuse among a sample of American Indian parents.
