Virginia Heart physicians are at the forefront of new treatments for this prevalent heart rhythm disorder. We are pleased to welcome Jessica Riggs, MD to our Virginia Heart Sleep Medicine Program. Dr. Riggs is board certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care with her most recent experience on the front line fighting COVID-19 in Intensive Care Units in New York City. She is currently accepting new patients in our Arlington and Fairfax offices. Dr. RIggs has a special interest in the management of sleep-disordered breathing, conditions of hypersomnolence, and the physiologic changes of sleep in women during pregnancy and with aging. Lisa's entire life she was told the episodes she experienced was severe anxiety or panic attacks. The doctors at Virginia Heart took their time to listen to what she was experiencing and discovered she had Supraventricular Tacycardia, and those episodes were not panic attacks. Because of careful monitoring of his left bundle branch block by Dr. Robert Shor, Bob Weber has been able to continue his passion for cycling. Bob averages 4,000 miles a year and demonstrates how patients with chronic heart conditions can continue to lead active lives. “I have been with Virginia Heart for many years and they take great care of me. It's all routine, but very reassuring to have a cardiologist and staff that put a premium on long-term monitoring,” Bob says.
