Who is Justin? Singapore ― Justin Lee, 17, who killed himself on Sept 16 while facing drug-trafficking charges, was no stereotypical unintelligent juvenile offender, according to a letter that his grieving mother wrote to Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam.

Ms Cecilia Ow, 51, a senior lecturer at a polytechnic, posted the heart-wrenching letter to Instagram on Tuesday (Oct 12), calling for a thorough review of how the police handle juveniles under criminal investigation, and describing as “brutal” her son’s treatment at the hands of anti-narcotics officers.

Telegram : https://t.me/tisgp Residents at Sembawang dorm left stranded after SLA evicted them, K Shanmugam to the rescue. FOCUS Adventure, a social enterprise that had converted its Sembawang campsite into a workers dormitory to house Malaysian workers who had nowhere else to go, was asked to leave the site because it was three months behind on its  rent.

The company runs corporate training programmes that apply adventure learning outdoors to make such activities as team building  more  fun and effective.

Following a long back-and-forth, the Singapore Land Authority which is in charge of the site, agreed to let them stay and withdraw its Letter of Termination. That happened after Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam intervened on behalf of FOCUS Adventure.

Telegram : https://t.me/tisgp Indranee Rajah Vs Raeesah Khan on 1st Nov 2021 “I should not have shared the survivor’s story without her consent, nor should I have said that I accompanied her to the police station when I had not. It was wrong of me to have done so.”

After Ms Khan’s apology, she was asked by Leader of the House Indranee Rajah to clarify some details. The House Leader underlined that Ms Khan had lied three times in Parliament in her Aug 3 speech.

Ms Rajah then asked for the matter to be referred to the Committee of Privileges, to which Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Speaker of Parliament, agreed.

The House Leader added that what happened “does a great disservice to the survivors of sexual assault and rape victims… because it’s hard enough for such women who are victims to tell their stories, and they have great difficulty in getting people to believe them sometimes.”

Telegram : https://t.me/tisgp Obama hits the stump in US battleground Virginia Former US president Barack Obama urges voters to back the Democrat in the neck-and-neck Virginia gubernatorial election touted as a test of the party's prospects in next year's midterm elections.

Campaigning in the state capital Richmond for Democrat Terry McAuliffe -- a former Virginia governor vying for his second term -- Obama casts the Republican as a threat to democracy and criticizes McAuliffe's opponent, Republican Glenn Youngkin, for backing Donald Trump's fraudulent claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

"I believe you right here in Virginia are going to show the rest of the country, and the world, that we’re not going to indulge in our worst instinct," Obama says

Telegram : https://t.me/tisgp Nee Soon MP Louis Ng on Private Security Industry (Amendment) Bill COVID-19 has made life harder for security officers, with many having to take on the "thankless" task of enforcing safe management measures, said MP Louis Ng. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 5), he said the Private Security Industry (Amendment) Bill will increase protection for them. He also sought clarifications on the Bill. He wanted to know what counts as a security officer's duty, and if the law will apply to functions reasonably connected to a security officer's work. He stressed the need to be clear about this as security officers may be required to perform diverse tasks which are not spelled out.
