Wednesday, November 4, 2020 How to prevent a specific friend from seeing your Facebook posts

Facebook's privacy settings have improved significantly over the years. Now you have much more control over who can see the content that you post than you did in the past. Read on to see how to block a specific person (or people) from seeing your posts, without having to unfriend them.

The steps below are writtenfor use with the Facebook web app (facebook.com). If you're using a mobile app (iOS or Android) the steps may be slightly different.

- While logged into your Facebook account, go to the Your Activity editor.

(You can also get there by clicking the triangle in the upper right and then going to Settings Privacy Settings Privacy Edit.)

- Under "Your activity" click on the sharing level listed below the text box ("Friends", "Public," "Only me," etc.)

- Click "Friends except..."

- Type the person's name whom you want to exclude (or search for it)

- Click on the name

- Repeat the previous two steps to exclude additional people

- Click "Save Changes"

You can also specify which people to exclude as you post new content. Facebook will save your changes and apply them to future posts.

If the fax memory on your Ricoh Aficio MP series copier/printer is full or almost full, you can delete some (or all) of the faxes stored in the reception file to can make room for new faxes.
On the fax screen, press the button toward the top labeled Change TX / Info, TX / RXStatus, or something similar. (Wording varies by model.)On the menu that appears, select the option for printing or deleting the reception file. The list of stored faxes will be displayed. There are various reasons for lines to appear, and by narrowing down the potential sources of the problem you can usually figure out a way to fix it. For example, if the lines don't go all the way to the edge of the page (stopping a fraction of an inch away) then the problem most likely lies with the machine's optics/scanning section, rather than any of the printing components.

If the lines appear when you are copying or scanning from the document feeder, but not when you place the original on the glass, then the problem is most likely dirt on the slit glass. The slit glass is the small strip of glass located next to the larger platen glass. Depending on your copier model, the slit glass may be located to the left or right of the platen glass.

For most copiers, you can clean the slit glass with alcohol and a lint-free rag, but check your device's manual first. If alcohol cannot be used, a dry lint-free rag will often remove the offending dirt. The slit glass gets dirty easily -- from paper dust, other dust in the air, or (not uncommonly) correction fluid (i.e. Wite-Out).

More often than not, cleaning the slit glass will remove the lines. (It may take a couple of passes with the rag.) If after cleaning the slit glass the lines remain, there are two likely sources of the problem:

The underside of the slit glass (the side you can't get to without removing the glass) is dirty. There is dust on one of the mirrors, or somewhere else in the optics section.
For either of those problems, it's recommended to call a trained service technician. Exposing or adjusting the optics section can cause other issues. No comments: Tuesday, May 12, 2020 How to allow apps access to the camera and microphone on a Windows 10 computer
In this time of quarantine, telework and virtual proms, more and more people are turning to apps like Zoom or Teams to stay connected. Collaboration and videoconferencing apps like those two are generally fairly easy to use, but they will need access to your computer's camera and microphone to fully function.

Your computer may already be set up with the necessary permissions, in which case you only need to launch the app to get connected with friends, family or coworkers. However, if Zoom or another app is prompting you to enable access to your camera and/or microphone, the steps below will walk you through setting up that access on a Windows 10 computer.

Camera:- In the search bar on the Windows taskbar, type "camera". (If you don't see the search bar, press the Windows key.)
- Click on "Camera privacy settings" in the search results.
- Under "Allow apps to access your camera" there will be a slide bar that is either set to Off or On. If it's set to On, you're already set up to allow apps like Zoom to use your webcam. If it's set to Off, click it so it changes to On.
- Scroll down to "Allow desktop apps to access your camera" and make sure that setting is also set to On.

Microphone:- In the search bar on the Windows taskbar, type "microphone". (If you don't see the search bar, press the Windows key.)
- Click on "Microphone privacy settings" in the search results.
- Under "Allow apps to access your microphone" there will be a slide bar that is either set to Off or On. If it's set to On, you're already set up to allow apps like Zoom to use your microphone. If it's set to Off, click it so it changes to On.
- Scroll down to "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone" and make sure that setting is also set to On.
