The Center’s Workshops in the Humanities 
are working groups centered on an interdisciplinary topic, broadly conceived. We support traditional and new forms of inquiry in the humanities and engage the public through partnerships that broaden the ways that knowledge circulates. More About us Research The Center s research programs provide unique opportunities for faculty and students to collaborate across disciplinary boundaries and to pursue innovation in their writing, teaching, and scholarship. Public Humanities From its founding, the Center has championed collaboration between scholars and the community. Launched in 2005 by the Center for the Humanities at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Great World Texts in Wisconsin connects scholars at UW-Madison with high school teachers and students across the state through the shared project of reading and discussing a classic piece of world literature. For 20 years, the UW-Madison Center for the Humanities has been a nexus for interdisciplinary programs and events within the humanities and social sciences. The 2019-20 academic year was no exception.
