This week's local COVID data is almost as mixed as last week's, with one big difference. Cornell, once supremely proud of its testing work, seems to have shut down its detailed COVID-19 testing dashboard and is now redirecting that URL to a general COVID page. SUNY also gave up on reporting a couple of weeks ago, and Cayuga Heights wastewater data is missing this week. Case counts are down 30% in Tompkins County, but barely down in the surrounding area. The Tompkins County Health Department says they’re looking for a dog that bit a person on Thursday on Ithaca's South Hill to make sure the dog doesn’t have a rabies infection. The incident occurred between 1:30 and 2:30pm on September 29 along a side trail leading from Upper Buttermilk Falls to La Tourelle Hotel. [...]

The Tompkins County Health Department says there have now been 24,472 total positive cases in Tompkins County, 38 more than on Friday, and a total of 1,942,704 tests conducted. The Health Department is also now reporting positive self-test results that have been submitted through their online portal. They say there are 4 new positive self-test results for a total of 3,872 submitted. [...]
Hector Street repair work extended for two more weeks
