Antequera Dolmen Site

The UNESCO World Heritage Committee, at its 40th session (Istanbul, 2016), decided to inscribe the Antequera Dolmens Site on the World Heritage List. Located in the heart of Andalusia, in southern Spain, the site comprises three megalithic monuments: the dolmen of Menga, the dolmen of Viera and the tholos of El Romeral, and two natural ones: the mountain formations of La Peña de los Enamorados and El Torcal, being the first Malaga property and Spanish megalithic complex to be declared World Heritage...

Light Fest

Every year, around the 15th of July, Antequera commemorates the awarding as UNESCO World Heritage with a light and sound spectacle offered in several emblematic places of the town.

ALF has become a whole fun and festive event where thousands of people go out to the Antequera street to take part and enjoy an extent programme of activities where technology, culture, music and heritage get together in unison thanks to a festival which has become a national example.

An exceptional heritage in the heart of Andalucía

Antequera, a town awarded as a Tourist Municipality, is located in the main crossroads of Andalucía and, therefore, a compulsory place of passing for travellers along history. Thanks to this strategic location it has become the “heart of Andalucía”, the link among the main communication roads, with carriageways and motorways (A-45, AP46, A-92) as well as the railway axis of Córdoba-Málaga and Seville-Granada, plus two stations for the High Velocity Train (AVE) within the municipal area. The Pablo Ruiz Picasso International Airport is just half an hour by car.
