Adam Lane Trio Featuring Vinny Golia and Vijay Anderson reunites!

Fall 2013: Three nights in New York and one night in Lithuania! This tremendous trio with two wildly acclaimed recordings will reunite for a fall run in New York before heading to Vilnius, Lithuania to make a live recording for NoBusiness. Vinny and Adam have been playing quite a bit since this trio last recorded, particularly working the connection between the piccolo and double bass. Look for the piccolo to be a prominent feature in this new round of trio music by a truly powerhouse power trio. Vijay and Adam have been working together quite a bit as well, particularly in the BlueSpirit Band, and a recent NoBusiness recording with Darius Jones. Lane and Anderson have been working together for almost 20 years now, and their rhythm section relationship is a tight as ever: from the hardest swing to the most open free stretch, to old-time gut bucket blues, their rhythmic palette is vast and deep. Sure to be a great new release. Coming out on CD and LP!

Coming out in 2014 on CleanFeed: Adam Lane's Full Throttle Orchestra recorded live at the 50th Ljubljana Jazz Festival in Slovenia.

A collection of four new pieces and two older works, filled with the fire and mad excitement from a live show. Incredible solos,
spontaneous orchestrations, and unexpected tangents. This is a large ensemble that can spontaneously and collectively create dense
textures, beautiful melodic moments and complex harmonic orchestrations. For the compositional element Lane has drawn from
the dense rhythmic complexity of Balanese Gamelan music, as well as the usual Ellington, Mingus, and AACM influences to craft four complex
new suites for jazz orchestra. Look for it on CleanFeed Records in 2014.

Coming in Sept. 2013, Adam Lane Trio, featuring Darius Jones and Vijay Anderson. Adam continues his longtime association with both Vijay and Darius in the context of a massively swinging, and groove infused trio session. This is a completely improvised session that is filled with a myriad of texture, from Geezer Butler inspired grooves, to pointalistic soundscapes, to distortion-laced bass, to old fashioned Ellingtonian swing. After 14 years of releasing recordings as a composer and band leader, this is the first recording under Lane's name that is fully and totally improvised. Released in both CD and LP format on the NoBusiness label. Sept. 2014.
