WORSHIP

Worship is "the work of the people", bringing together our fullest selves in a communal act of Love and Justice. Your voice matters as we read together, sing together, laugh, learn and love together! Worshiping together in Love builds our capacity to do as Jesus asks: feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and seek Justice.

NURTURE

Faith is a journey together with God and with neighbor. Through intergenerational experiences and age and interest-specific groups we seek to nurture wholeness in one another. Education classes for all ages meet weekly. A variety of interest groups meet monthly, and outings and retreats are scheduled throughout the year.

SERVICE

We remember that Jesus came bringing healing and hope. We challenge one another to live out God's call for justice. We are committed to justice for all people; including those who experience deprivation, oppression or prejudice, and victims of war, natural disasters and adversities. We encourage Jesus-like service of neighbors, both near and far.

We are not just a “church” founded in bricks and mortar.

We are a faith community founded in the principles of God’s unbiased love & never-ending grace.

We seek to practice Jesus’ Way of radical hospitality. We gather to create a safe place for all to explore faith and grace, love and compassion. We believe in equipping all ages with the ability to think critically and engage the good news of Jesus the Christ. We work together for equity and justice.

We are inclusive and open to all. We welcome all God’s children though differing in race, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, nationality, ethnicity, marital status, physical or mental ability, political stance or theological perspective, and we affirm the faith, baptism and spiritual gifts of all Christians celebrating that all people are part of God’s good creation.

LOVING OUR NEIGHBOR BY…

Worshiping In-Person and Online

As a faith community, we are focused on fostering connections with our community and those around us. This unprecedented time has certainly created a challenge for interaction. We met virtually for a time, but have returned to in-person worship at 10:30 on Sunday mornings. Based on current CDC guidance, wearing masks is a personal decision. We also livestream the services on Facebook and YouTube. Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings.

Journeying through Transition

New Beginnings Christian Church is no stranger to transition. After moving out of our 100 year old building in January 2020, we transitioned to worshiping at a temporary location on Hickman Road as our new space was being developed. We have now moved into our new space at 8631 Hickman Road in Urbandale.

Growing Roots in a New Community

With great discernment, New Beginnings Christian Church chose Urbandale, Iowa as the location for the church’s new home. New Beginnings believes that a church is not just a building built with brick and mortar, but a faith community that is actively involved in the larger community around us. Now that we have moved into our new space in the former Sam and Gabe’s building, we continue worship together as we act on our calling to the Urbandale neighborhood.
