Tiny Desk Contest Winner
Alisa is this year’s winner of NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest
This was Alisa’s first entry in Spanish with her song "Milonga accidental;” an ode to in-between-ness, to having several identities at once, to feeling split between cultures and languages. NPR Tiny Desk Concert creator and Tiny Desk Contest judge Bob Boilen called Alisa a singer-songwriter “with a powerful voice whose tender performance commands attention and fosters connection.”Later this month, Alisa will play a Tiny Desk concert at NPR's headquarters in Washington, D.C. She'll then headline the return of NPR Music's Tiny Desk Contest On The Road tour which is back after a two-year hiatus and will feature standout entrants in each city.

Alisa is named an official showcase artist at americanafest
Alisa and the band will travel to Nashville, TN in September 2022 to play as an official showcase artist at AMERICANAFEST!

West Coast is up next! Alisa will be opening shows for Carsie Blanton in February 2022 all up the west coast, including dates in Santa Monica, CA; Novato, CA; Sacramento, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; and Mount Vernon, WA. See you there!

Alisa Amador’s music is a synthesis of the many styles she’s voraciously absorbed: rock, jazz, funk and alternative folk, all wrapped in the spirit of the Latin music she grew up with. With a sound described by Vance Gilbert as, “Shawn Colvin meets Joni Mitchell has lunch with Amy Winehouse meets Suzanne Vega and Diana Krall,” and NPR calls, “a pitch-perfect rendition of my wildest dreams,” her soulful singing, poetically incisive lyrics, and syncopated rhythms, are likely to make you cry, laugh and dance all within one set.
