Moonen Yachts has officially begun construction of their latest superyacht. YN201 is the fourth 36m superyacht to be built on the shipyards Martinique platform. The yacht was designed by Dutch designer René van der Velden. Her naval architecture was made by Diana Yacht Design.The keel laying ceremony of YN201 took place at the end of November. The project manager of YN201, Ian Vermoen, attended the ceremony and said “It is always an exciting moment when the keel is laid for a new project. This is the starting point of the construction of YN201 and a time of many milestones leading up to when the yacht will take her final shape. The next big milestone will be the joining of the hull and superstructure in July 2021, before the delivery of a beautiful yacht in 2022.”The 36-metre superyacht is scheduled to be available in Summer 2022 and is now for sale. Also, YN200 is Moonen Yachts’ third 36m Martinique and is currently under construction. Like YN201, its exterior was designed by René van der Velden and its naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design. YN200 is owned by a client who previously owned a timeless Moonen 84.At the owners wish, their new superyacht will feature a jacuzzi and an extended sun deck – a great contribution to Moonen’s popular Martinique platform. YN200 will accommodate 10 + 2 guests across one master stateroom and 4 guest staterooms and 7 crew in 4 cabins. The owners are currently working in close cooperation with Studio Indigo to design YN200’s interior and she will be delivered in the USA at the end of 2021.Credits: Moonen Yachts SL120 Asymmetric is the name of the new flagship of the asymmetric line by Sanlorenzo, the planning model with a length of 36.92 meters. The external and internal lines of the SL120 Asymmetric were designed by studio Zuccon International Project.The concept of asymmetry is developed in a new way on the SL120 Asymmetric, giving rise to an unprecedented layout that generates greater utilization of internal spaces and improved communication with outdoor zones.The owner’s cabin has direct access to the outdoor lounge at the bow. It is a space of 15 sq. m. conceived for a range of different uses: while the foredeck is completely outfitted as a large sunbathing area, the upper deck features a table for outdoor dining, which can also be transformed into a sundeck. Furthermore, the C-shaped sofa facing the deckhouse can be replaced with a Jacuzzi.The full connection with the sea and the liveability of the outdoor spaces reach their peak in the stern zone of the lower deck. Kismet can accommodate 16 guests in 8 opulent staterooms.Madsummer The 95-metre Madsummer was launched in 2019. Her exterior lines were designed by Harrison Eidsgaard and her modern and contemporary interior by Laura Sessa. Madsummer can accommodate up to 12 guests in 10 spacious staterooms. She features a 12-metre swimming pool, a huge spa and extensive diving facilities. This yacht can reach a top speed of 18 knots and a cruises at15 knots. Lürssen is one of the world’s leading builders of custom luxury superyachts. The all-new “Mini-Ilumen” tender comes with the distinctive Ilumen features in a mini-format.It will offer certain innovative Ilumen elements like comfort and lighter weight than mass-market tenders in the same size range, but also a High-Performance Hull (HPH) which is designed to have great resistance value and low fuel consumption. True to the Ilumen philosophy, the Ilumen tender series will be built of a high-tech composite construction with a megayacht insulation plan to ensure an enhanced level of comfort, both in thermal and acoustic insulation. The sandwich GRP system allows 30% more acoustic and thermal insulation and less weight compared to the traditional construction methods offered on the market. With its bold, sleek design, an unusual wraparound windshield, and an open stern it is expected to run 46kn top speed.The Ilumen tender series concept is composed of different sizes ranging from 6M length to serve different scenarios from tenders in bigger yachts, up to chase boats, luxury shuttles and day cruisers.Founded in 1999, luxury yacht builder Dominator began production in March 2000. The key features of the model include solar panels, large open spaces and full-height windows.Another interesting feature – the innovative glass panels that can be raised and lowered like the side windows in a car, create spaces in which the threshold between inside and outside becomes imperceptible, while closed spaces dissolve and are absorbed by the surrounding natural environment.The design was made by Milano-based Hot Lad studio and some new materials have been used in the skylounge, such as the colonial-essence oak and light grey alpi. “The use of the ‘glass’ element is not limited just to the windows. It becomes an integral part of the interiors,” explains Enrico Lumini, Hot Lab’s Head of Design. “The idea was to stress the different functions of the skylounge by inserting materials that did not obstruct the view. Take for example the glass walls that separate the jardin d’hiver from the wheelhouse: the depth of the visual field does not change, yet the flows of the crew and passengers can be separated when and if necessary.” Inside, accommodation comes in the form of a master suite, a VIP suite and two guest cabins with twin beds.Another distinguishing feature of the Sherpa XL is a side garage forward of the engine room that is large enough to house a tender of 4 metres in length.
