Hackney Peace Art Exhibition: an exciting art exhibition in collaboration with Hackney Council Initiatives Peace Begins at Home The ‘Peace Begins at Home’ Intergenerational Dialogue training workshops were developed in 2010 by the Somali Initiative for Dialogue and Democracy (SIDD) in partnership with IofC UK. SIDD is a Somali community organisation dedicated to reconciling Somalis among themselves and with the host community. The training was born out of Business Economy We are an international community of business leaders, entrepreneurs, strategic thinkers, consultants and researchers with a longstanding history in engaging and working with businesses and governments around the world. Since the 1950s, IofC has been involved with the business sector in the UK as well as having decades of dialogues Migrants and Refugees as Re-Builders Welcome to the 'Migrants and Refugees as Re-Builders' initiative. This was a three-year Erasmus+ project to improve the training of migrants and refugees through adult education. Migrants and Refugees as Re-Builders (KA2 Cross-borders Intercultural and Societal Entrepreneurs) was a partnership of organisations from the UK, Turkey, Sweden, and Spain who School for Changemakers School for Changemakers or SfCM, has been IofC-UK’s flagship leadership programme for young people. In 2020, it commemorated its 10th Anniversary. SfCM is partly skills based, partly reflective, partly discursive, partly inter-cultural, heavily convivial, inspirational, focused on sound principles of youth work and always rooted in the spiritual experience of Agenda for Reconciliation Agenda for Reconciliation (AfR) started as series of international conferences on peacemaking at IofC’s centre in Switzerland in the early 1990s. They were coordinated by IofC UK, and when the series ended, the coordinators continued their weekly meetings. In 2005, a particular focus began to emerge when leaders of the Creators of Peace Creators of Peace transforms, empowers and engages women in peace creation. “The Peace Circle has helped me realise that rather than my life reacting to events and people, I can take responsibility for the direction it is meant to take. In that process I can also include others who want The Sustainable Communities Programme The Communities Programme was initiated in 2012 as the result of a strategic planning process in IofC after the London riot in 2011. Its intention was to address the moral and spiritual challenges facing communities and taking action to develop and mobilise communities to tackle critical issues. Refugees as Re-Builders™ The Refugees as Re-Builders™ (RRB) is an active programme for settled diaspora refugees’ leaders and professionals originating in war torn regions of the world. The programme’s three focus areas are: Training courses that are specifically created to engage perspectives of refugees essential in rebuilding their home countries – if/when Changemaker Stories
