A community gathering to celebrate the new school name is expected to be held next school year. #spslearn Confederation Park Principal Pete Chief is telling trustees that through a traditional naming ceremony that followed appropriate Cree culture protocol, Wâhkôhtowin was chosen. The staff, students, and community embarked on a culturally responsive process to choose a new name. The process began in 2016 at the 10-year anniversary of the Cree language program. The budget will include 29 new teacher positions and 40 new EA positions. The increase in EA staffing represents a 10% increase of staff in the position.
