The International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP) will come to a close at the end of this year after three decades of fostering international collaborative research and synthesis on global change. A musical performance by Bella Gaia will celebrate the achievements and legacy of IGBP. The performance will be held in San Francisco on 17 December 2015.  IGBP will hold its Landmark Synthesis Event at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting in December this year. Preparations for the event are in full swing. Here's a brief update. The Integrated Land Ecosystem Atmosphere Processes Study (iLEAPS) invites short articles for its November 2015 special issue newsletter. Please submit by October 15 . This free workshop will assess the Swedish research capacity and prospects for national and international collaboration. It will be held from 24-25 November 2015. Please register by 20 October. The Global Land Project (GLP) is seeking applications for the position of Executive Officer of its International Project Office (IPO), which will be hosted by the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE) of the University of Bern, Switzerland. Apply by 17 October 2015 . The Global Land Project (GLP) invites short articles on the relationship between biodiversity and land systems for its October 2015 newsletter. This workshop will be held in conjunction with the Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) in December 2015. Future Earth and IGBP invite applications from early-career scientists from around the world. Please apply by 28 August. IGBP is co-sponsoring over 60 scientific sessions as part of its package of activities at the Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union. We strongly encourage global-change researchers and practitioners to submit abstracts to these sessions by the 5 August deadline.
