Citrus United Basket, Inc. (C.U.B.) is a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization. C.U.B. was created in 1978 to assist Citrus County families facing temporary hardship. Born of an idea, C.U.B. has successfully fulfilled its mission for over 36 years. Make a DonationorContact Us provide food to over 5000 households financial assistance to approximately 2200 individuals and material assistance to nearly 6000 people; Provide Christmas Dinner to over 2,000 families; Assist individuals entering the work place by providing appropriate clothing and interview guidance; Offer encouragement to people who find themselves without employment, have suffered abuse, or just need help during a crisis; Work with and collaborate with other agencies in an effort to provide for the needs of families; C.U.B. annually has been able to return approximately 88 cents of every dollar received back to the community in direct assistance. Our thrift store offers an assortment of clothing, household items and furniture at a nominal cost. There is no charge for children's clothing. Daily sales from our thrift store are used to purchase food for our food pantry. C.U.B. solely provides traditional Christmas Dinner to over 2,000 Citrus County households. With the generosity of our community, including local businesses, we have provided approximately 1500 toys to the children of Citrus County In addition, we maintain a Birthday closet with Birthday gifts and cakes during the year. Citrus United Basket is ALWAYS in need of the following: non-perishable food items, monetary donations, adult clothing, children's clothing, household items, school supplies for children." C.U.B. would not be able to aid Citrus County families in need without the tireless efforts of our volunteers who annually provide over 10,000 hours of service to fulfill our purpose to the community."
