Happy Tuesday! After doing a poll on my Instagram stories, I am so excited you guys wanted to see some work from home outfit inspo! I've really been trying my best to put on a full outfit every day to make me feel more productive for work. (I doubt this will last too long as the weather gets colder and I want to be cozier, but I'm sticking to it for now!) Since I'm on calls the majority of the day, I try to look put together on the top and then wear my comfier jeans/leather leggings on the bottom. I tested out wearing pj pants one day and I found that I was just not as motivated as when I wear real pants (anyone else?!). Needless to say, even though it requires a little more effort, I've surprisingly been loving getting ready (an outfit + a little bit of makeup) each morning. Any sense of normalcy in my daily routine makes me feel a little better! As I'm sure you'll notice, I have been gravitating towards neutrals like black, white and gray for my tops because they are much more versatile. I've also been throwing on headbands some days and think it adds a fun touch (especially if you have dirty hair!). And if there's one product I cannot recommend enough, it is these Spanx leather leggings. Omg. I wear these so many times per week whether it be for work, running errands or just to lounge around! They look so great with everything. I bought them during the Nordstrom sale and am so glad I finally did.bodysuit (I also have in white + love!)jeans(similar)slippersbutton down tee(similar)jeansslippersheadbandsweatshirt(similar)jeansslipperssweater hoodie(similar)leather leggingsslipperssweater (old Aerie, similar)leather leggingsslippersblue light glassessweaterleather leggingsWhat are your thoughts on dressing for WFH?xoxoNow that I'm a few weeks into work from home (more on that later!), I have noticed one accessory I have been constantly gravitating towards: a headband! I used to be a huge headband girl in middle school (the best way to spruce up the school uniform, ofc), but I feel like they have recently made a major comeback. I think one of the main reasons they have been so popular lately is because working from home, people are much more natural (ie. not straightening their hair like they might for work at the office). I personally love that on video calls they add a fun touch to the little bit of your outfit that other people can see through the screen! All in all, I have been rotating through my headbands lately and wanted to share some that I'm particularly loving.I bought this one while studying abroad in Florence and have been obsessed with it since!Shop a few of my favorites below! As you can tell, I'm super into the ones that have a knot tied at the top - I think they make them more casual and fun.Are you into the headband trend for fall too? It's no secret that I love stationery (I worked at a local stationery store for 3 summers in high school!) so when Anna reached out to me about the hand painted cards company she and her mom started, I couldn't wait to share. I think it's so awesome to support other young entrepreneurs, especially when there are some pretty pieces to buy! She Said It is inspired by influential women and features quotes throughout history with watercolored designs. How cute is the Citrus and Style stationery set that I got to pick out?! I am such a big inspirational quotes person and love the ones on these cards - wouldn't they be fun to send a friend or give along with a gift? You can use my code "CITRUS" for $5.50 off the order of the set.Be sure to check out all of their products - they are working on some really pretty things on Instagram too that I can't wait to see!xoxoAll of this down time has given me the perfect chance to finally getting around to sharing my senior year room with you guys! It's been a long time coming, but with move out in a few weeks, I had to capture my favorite cozy little room in our senior year house. Not only do I think it's fun to show you guys how I put together my room, but I love looking back on old posts and seeing a glimpse into my life at the time. It's really starting to hit me that I'll only be here at IU for a few more weeks, so I'm trying to soak up every moment and do everything I've been meaning to for the past 4 years. So, a room tour of my favorite little corner of campus is something I'm excited to share!First, I'm going to start with the inspiration for my room. As someone who has basically lived in the same house for my entire life, I really haven't had the opportunity to start from scratch on a bedroom (besides my freshman dorm of course). So, I was extra excited to come up with a color scheme and overall "theme" for my room. I started a Pinterest board last summer and slowly started accumulating pieces I liked from a variety of places.I wanted to bring a crisp, clean, and luxurious feel to my room. I'm lucky (but unlucky early in the morning!) that my bedroom is super light and bright from the sun, so creating a very white space was pretty easy. I loved the idea of a pop of color using a desk chair, and I added a cozy layer to it using a soft pink throw too. I also included several fur accents with another throw blanket and two pillows. For another color, I brought in gold accents through picture frames and jewelry organization. Then for a more personal touch, I love the idea of having a ton of photos around my room, whether they be from my travels or memories with my friends. Below is what I used as inspiration! Now here's the finished result!Since it's so tiny, I'm obsessed with keeping it super clean and organized.I found a lot of my furniture for pretty great prices (ie. Target, Walmart, H M, etc.), but at the same time I made sure I chose neutral colors so that I could use them in the future too.I am going to try my best to link everything I found below! Its been a while since I found them online, so if things aren't available online anymore I'll link something similar. Side note: my dresser was such terrible quality that I don't even want to link it - it'll be going in the trash after move-out!This post also has a bunch of my smaller accessories linked!I can't believe senior year has almost come to an end and I'll have to leave our cozy little house for good. So many wonderful memories have taken place here and I'll always cherish the time spent in it with my friends!JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. I came home from my house at school for a week for a change of scenery after my 14 day quarantine from spring break, and while I've enjoyed my time at home, I'm excited to get back to some warmer weather! With some extra downtime on my hands, I've been doing a ton of browsing for pretty pieces for spring and summer. There are a ton of sales going on right now, so I decided to pull together my favorite picks from a few places I love to shop. I've seen so many pretty flowy tops and dresses that are making me extra excited for quarantine to end so that I can wear cute little pieces out to dinner!(I think I'm also going to throw together some of my swimsuit finds because there are a ton of fun ones right now too!)AMERICAN EAGLEJavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. I know it sounds kind of dramatic, but now that I'm a senior in college I feel like I've gained a lot of insight about the world around me. From living in another country for a semester to working for a company I love last summer, I've experienced a lot and have really enjoyed reflecting on everything I've learned.1. Exercise can help you more than just physically but mentally too. Find a workout you love that will help you clear your mind.2. Happiness comes from within you, so don't look somewhere else for it.3. Do the things that scare you because they are the things that will help you grow the most!4. Be a sponge and absorb everything around you. Use every experience as a way to gain more knowledge about the world.5. Don't ever get too comfortable. Keep evolving and challenging yourself to be better.6. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and make you a better person. Even if it's tough, remove people from your life who aren't good for you.7. Find things outside of your job or major that excite you!8. Create a morning routine you love. I really think it is the key to a great day.9. Stay busy, but also know how to unplug.10. Organization is the key to success. My 7th grade science teacher reminded us of this every day and I still think it's so true!11. Spend money on adventures rather than material things. Some of my best memories of college were concerts with friends, trips abroad, and workout classes like Cyclebar.12. Learn when to let go of something if it isn't working. Whether it be people, a job, or something in your daily routine, it's important to make a change if it is costing you your happiness.13. Stay educated! Download a "word of the day" app, listen to podcasts and stay up to date on the news.14. Don't be afraid of rejection. Sometimes not getting what you want is actually better for you in the long run.15. Everyone's on their own path - don't compare what you're doing to others because what's best for you might not be the same for someone else and visa versa.16. Your mindset is everything. Running is the best example - if you push yourself you can probably run longer than you think you can!17. Find something happy in each day.18. Similarly, treat yourself in some way every day. Whether it's a coffee or watching your favorite show, find a way to reward yourself daily.19. Stay inspired. Read books, go on Pinterest, and follow accounts on social media that give you inspiration.20. Trust your gut because it's almost always right.21. Know what you deserve and don't budge on it.22. Never underestimate how much a good outfit can make you feel better and have a good day.As unsettling and crazy as the world is right now, I think it is giving us all a great opportunity to take some time to reflect on things we might not normally have time to. With so much down time on our hands, I challenge you to sit down and think about things more deeply. It's crazy how much you've learned if you take the time to really think about it!xoxoHappy Friday! I hope you are all staying healthy and cozied up at home. With almost a full week of my quarantine down, I feel like I've finally gotten the hang of things that have been working for me. It is so easy to stay too up-to-date on the news and sit around in fear, but I've found that if you stay home and try to keep some sense of normalcy, we could actually use this time to be sort of productive! So, I've come up with 11 ways I've been staying sane during this uneasy time.1. Maintain some sort of routineThe first few days being back at school, my roomie and I lounged on the couches for 9 hours straight watching tv show after tv show, devouring snacks and staring at our phones. While that was fun for a day or two, we started going crazy on day 3 because we were getting absolutely nothing done. As people who crave a routine and a sense of productivity each day, we decided that it was time to try to get back to our normal lives as much as possible. So, we decided to start waking up a little earlier, drink a cup of coffee, and try to get some work done at our kitchen table. While it's tempting to lay around all day, we realized that in order to survive more than 2 days of social distancing, we needed some sense of normalcy in our lives.2. Deep clean your spaceI actually deep cleaned my closet and desk right before spring break, but otherwise now is the perfect time to clear out your space in time for spring! It feels so good to get rid of stuff, rearrange, and have a fresh new area to live in.3. Get ahead on workWhether it's assignments due for class or work for your actual job, staying on top (or ahead!) on what you need to do will help you feel more productive. Since our spring break was extended a week, I took a bit of that time to work ahead on assignments and it makes me feel so much better knowing that I got some of that work done ahead of time!4. Spend (a limited!) time on Tik TokI really hate to say it, but I have become incredibly obsessed with Tik Tok. For someone who thought it was kind of dumb when it was gaining popularity, I completely see why it is so entertaining! I have found myself absolutely crying laughing on many occasions, and frankly I think all of us could use a little bit of that these days! Just make sure you don't spend all day on it, because I know that is possible :)5. Go for a walk + listen to a podcastThis has been my absolute saving grace. Getting out of the house 1-2 times daily (and doing so from a social distance, of course) has been how I've been staying sane. During the school year, I never have the time to listen to podcasts, so I've been catching up by listening to ones with my favorite influencers or about current events. The 30-45 minute time frame is perfect for a little cardio too!6. Try out recipes you've been cravingThere have been several recipes I've saved on my phone that I've been wanting to whip up for months now, but with a normally busy schedule, I've simply put them off for so long. Now, I have no excuse! I made the most delicious brussel sprout and bacon pasta as well as panko chicken tenders so far, and I have to say, I've really learned to love cooking!7. Support your local businessesEvery day, my friends and I have been trying to support one local business here in Bloomington that we love. From coffee shops that are offering online orders to restaurants that have take out, it is our favorite way to responsibly get out of the house, get something yummy to eat and support our favorite businesses!8. Put together a to-do listThere are so many random things I've been putting off doing for months, whether it be finally organizing my photos from my semester abroad or even untangling my favorite necklace that has been sitting on my dresser for far too long. Create a to-do list of things like this and try to knock out one or two each day!9. Try at-home workoutsTypically, I'm the type of person that loves getting outside or hitting the gym for a workout. But, I've recently learned to love Youtube, Tik Tok or Instagram workouts to mix up my normal strength training. So far my favorites have been Shannon Nadjand Whitney Simmons!10. Find a New HobbyTry out a puzzle, order a coloring book, or even something as simple as list your clothes on Poshmark! Use this time to find something new to do that you enjoy!11. Keep in touch with the people you care aboutEven if you're far away, staying in touch with my friends and family has been the main thing getting me through this unsettling time. Whether it be an hour long phone call to catch up, a text seeing how someone is doing or even a funny video you found, take some time each day and talk to those you love. We're all in this together! Are there things I'm missing that you've been doing?I'd love to hear!I know it's been a minute, but what better time to get back into blogging than now! My senior year spring break has been extended by another week and I'm really itching to do something while I quarantine at my house at school. After a little online shopping to pass the time, I realized how much I miss blogging and sharing my finds with you. Enjoy!!Given the current situation in the world right now, it's so important to stay home, cozy up and stay healthy. While wearing pjs every day is tempting, I think it'll help mentally to change out of them and put on an outfit during the day until it is time for bed. Even if it's a cozy lounge set, the routine of putting on fresh clothes every day will make things feel just a little bit more normal. That being said, I've been scouring the internet for the best lounge sets and have found such cute ones to share! Nastygal has some of the absolute best sets I've seen and they are all at such a reasonable price (especially compared to some of the more "luxury" ones that influencers often post about).brown sweater lounge set / striped shorts set / cableknit shorts set / hoodie lounge set / stripe sweater set / pink knit lounge set/ gray tee and leggings set / snakeskin jogger setAre you wanting to hop on the loungewear set train too?Hope you're all staying safe and healthy!!
