Come Celebrate Bebashi is a non-profit agency serving the Greater Philadelphia Area. We offer services for Sexual Health, Breast Health and Hunger Relief. We also have an extensive prevention education program to provide our consumers and community resources on safe sex, preventative measures and treatment. Learn More Experience how Bebashi makes an impact in the lives of those we serve Learn More Dear Friends:To describe these as challenging times is the greatest of understatements. While struggling under the weight of oppressive policies that have resulted in, among other things, more people losing their healthcare benefits; more deaths from opioid abuse and more people forced to survive on the streets, we are confronted by yet another pandemic, COVID-19, that the modern world has not seen since, well, HIV/AIDS.While we have made considerable progress, in the latter, we have a long way to go with the former. With the most recent manifestation of murder of three unarmed black people at the hands of the police, it is no surprise that cities across the United States have exploded in pain, anger and hopelessness.The U.S. was born and raised on protest, going back to the Boston Tea party, the Civil Rights movement, and more recently protests for gun control and against police violence. Sadly, this country also carries the weight of systemic racism and oppression against people of color (POC) that has helped to richly reward the few, while starving and subjugating the many.Bebashi too, was founded out of protest against the lack of attention to and allocation of resources for POC at the beginning of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Since that time in 1985, Bebashi has joined our communities, in our communities, to address the social determinants of health that have made POC more vulnerable to all the ills of our society, including COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS.We at Bebashi, stand in solidarity with the spirit of peaceful protest against that systemic oppression and condemn those who would use this opportunity to sew mayhem. We also pledge to continue our mission to advocate for social justice so until there are no longer “second class citizens” in the country. Resource Navigation Resource Navigation Bebashi’s resource navigation program helps individuals fulfill access to basic needs. ID Program One of the primary obstacles to moving out of poverty is lack of a State Photo Identification Card. We’re Here to Help We offer a wide range of services that can empower you to improve your health and well being including: screening and referrals to care, prevention education, HIV and sexual health care and support, breast health, hunger relief, social services and medication delivery.
