Owners, Debbie Taylor and Barbara Ekberg bring over twenty five years' experience to the business. Debbie has personally been sitting and referring sitters for over fifteen years since moving to St. Simons Island. She previously owned and operated a day care center for six years while living in Maryland. Having been a working mother, as well as a day care provider, she understands both sides of the child care business. Her love for children makes every minute spent with them a cherished occasion. Debbie also has a passion for animals and has been caring for them almost as long as she has children. She has a solid business background and understands the importance of maintaining a good working relationship with her clients. Her top priority is to provide the best possible service to every client using Sitters By The Shore. Barbara Ekberg's experience includes interacting with both the young and old. She has worked with the local school system as a parapro in elementary school and later became an administrative assistant at the Adult Literacy center. She has been babysitting for a large resort in the area for the past three years. She has also spent two years reading and sharing time with the elderly in a local retirement community. Having worked with children of all ages and raising two of her own, Barbara has a love, understanding and patience for all children. They are the bright light in her day.
