Visit our Discovery Gardens. There are three and a half acres with 23 different small gardens with ideas for your garden. Open weekdays and the third Saturday of the month from 9 am to 4 pm. Fruit has been commercially produced in Lake County from the beginning. Blueberries and peaches are becoming more popular with new UF cultivars adapted to Central Florida conditions. Florida is considered a cow-calf state with the majority of ranchers caring for brood cows on pasture and raising calves to sell at the market. Lake County had 23,000 head of cattle as of January 2017.
