Monday, August 1, 2016 DIY Pretty PackagesThis is a personal blog. Alleditorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/. I do receive financialcompensation and material product from Crate Paper to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Do you have extra bags on hand? Wondering what to do with them? I had a couple of cute muslin drawstring bags lying around that I thought would make cute packaging for gift giving.

I started by using a 1"inch circle punch from EK Success to punch out circles from gold glitter paper.

I then used liquid adhesive to adhere the gold glitter circles to my bags in a polka dot pattern.

Next, came the embellishing. Oh, how I love the fun papers and embellishments in the Crate paper Cute girl collection. I chose papers and altered items that would work for birthdays or the everyday.

The tassels in the Cute girl collection are so gorgeous. I wanted to use them all, but I decided on two of my favorites - (b/w polka dots with gold and mint with gold) to use on my bags.
I also added some darling ephemera pieces, gold bow paper clips and chipboard pieces.

From my own stash I added a few doilies (white and gold) and gold glitter paper clips.

These bags came together in a snap and would be great for any occasion.

2 comments: Monday, May 16, 2016 Citrus Twist Kits | Bible JournalingHi everyone, I have a bible journaling page to share with you today using the May Gracebox kit from Citrus Twist kits! This kit is perfect for fitting all of your bible journaling needs.

The bible verse that I decided to highlight is Nehemiah 4:20 "Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fightfor us!" Because this verse is so happy and full of praise, I chose happy and vibrant paints and supplies from the kit.

To start I painted pink, teal and yellow acrylic paints across my page. Once the paint dried, I used the Tim Holtz Lace stencil with modeling paste. Tip: I like to use a heat gun between layers to help the paint dry quicker.

I stamped the praise the Lord for the Lord is good stamp (included in the kit) onto a separate piece of white cardstock and adhered it onto the right side of my spread.

Next, I added some die cuts and puffy stickers from the kit. I finished up by stamping the chevron stamp next to the verse that I'm highlighting. I also stamped the date that I did the page.

The May Gracebox kit is sold out, but you can sign up now to start a subscription in June.

I can't wait to see what you create!

2 comments: Friday, May 13, 2016 Pink Paislee | Mixed MediaHi everyone, welcome! This week on the Pink Paislee blog we are sharing mixed media projects! To start you off, I'm sharing how my mixed media layout came to life.

First, I started by cutting out this bird background with my Silhouette Cameo (cut file by Paige Evans for Studio Calico). Next, I used a combination of my favorite watercolor confections tropical paints and watercolor confections the classics paintsfrom Prima and painted some of the background birds. I purposefullyleft several of them white to allow for white balance.

Next, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut some birds out of different patterned papers from the Fancy Free collection. I adhered them to my cut file background and set aside. Next, I painted a watercolor background on white cardstock. Once my background was dry, I adhered the bird cut file background.

To embellish my layout, I started by adding droplets of white paint against my background then I added my photo and embellishments from the Fancy Free collection.

I love how bright and colorful this layout turned out. If you have a layout that you would like to share with us, using our current collections, feel free to post them on our Facebook page, or on Instagram using the hashtag #pinkpaislee or #ppFancyFree!

Supplies Used:
Pink Paislee: Fancy Free Papers and embellishments
Prima: Watercolor Confections Tropicals paints, Watercolor Confections The Classics paints and Waterbrush Pen set

118 comments: Friday, May 6, 2016 Scrapbook Circle | Be RealHi there! I'm trying something a little different for this month's Be Real post at Scrapbook Circle. Each month a couple of creative team members are assigned to use Instagram photos on a layout or a pocket scrapbooking page. I decided to change it up this month by creating a Be Real instagram photo album instead.

I loved the papers and embellishments that were included in the May Here and Now kit and coordinating add-ons. I started off my insta album by cutting up the corrugated white cardstock included in the main kit. It is thick and versatile, so I decided that it would make a great surface for my pages. First, I used a paper trimmer and trimmed white corrugate pieces into 7 5"x 5" square pieces. I purchased a patterned paper add-on this month, in order to create this album you would need to have extra corrugated paper on hand or you could cut your pages to 4"x 4" each and one sheet should do the trick.

After cutting up my corrugated background pages, I then cut up pieces of patterned papers from the main kit and May add-on kits measuring 5" x 5" each. I then placed each cut patterned paper on each corrugated piece. Once I got all of my papers placed, I used my crop a dile to punch through each page, and then adjoined them all using a jump ring.

Next, I printed off a couple of Instagram photos and a couple of small wallet sized photos.

Once the photos were in place I used a lot of embellishments, Thickers, thread, spray ink, lace netting and a couple of other items to finish each page.

My last page of the album is my "favorites" page. I used a tag (included in the main kit) to journal a few things about our special day.

Overall, I'm so happy with how this "Be Real" mini album turned out!

I hope that you are inspired to create something fun today using Instagram photos!

No comments: Friday, April 22, 2016 Elle's Studio | Pocket Scrapbooking April kitHi everyone, I'm sharing a new pocket scrapbooking page today using the Elle's Studio exclusive April kit + extras.
My daughters 17th birthday was just a few weeks ago, and we decided to travel with several members of our youth group to LA to visit an outreach event.
I used two different pocket pages to create my spread. The page on the left is a 1012 spread and the page on the right is a 1212 spread. I like to change things up sometimes depending on the size of my photos. I added lots of items from the theLittle Moments collectionand theElles Studio April 2016 Exclusive kitandextras.
During our trip we visited the Santa Monica beach boardwalk and the event at the Los Angeles Coliseum. I took lots of pictures during our vacation and couldnt wait to share them in my album. I added some simple journaling on the right hand side of my spread using thenotes from the weekend card. This card really came in handy to help document our trip.

Supplies:Elles Studio April 2016 Kit,True Story Acrylic,Perfect Weekend Stamp,Little Moments Wood Veneers,Little Moments Bits and Pieces, andLittle Moments Journaling Tags. Thanks for stopping by today I would love to see how you are using ES products on your projects! Make sure you share your projects with us in the ESMember Galleryor on Instagram with the hashtag #ellesstudio!
