Do I want to be married to someone who shares all our marital problems with his friends and people he is not even close to. Someone that wasted no time letting his mother and father know about my infidelity - that does not believe that our marital problems are between us and perhaps a close friend or family member?
Do I want to be married to someone who does not find me attractive?
Do I want to be married to someone who is so quick to be angry and impatient with the children?
Do I want to be married to someone who has let our financial situation get this bad?
Do I want to be married to someone who cares so much what everyone else thinks of him?
Do I want to be married to someone who is so moody?
Do I want to be married to someone who does not treasure me?
Do I want to be married to someone who treasures only his daughter?
Do I want to be married to someone who does not show me any affection?
Do I want to be married to someone who has been unstable since he was a teenager, never seeming to know what he wants?
Do I want to be married to someone who spends more time updating his status on FB than being in the moment? Last night as I drove to Newton to pick up the boys from their dads I decided I would start a blog. I haven't been writing much, with the exception of work, and I don't get to do a lot of creative writing for that. I miss it though, and want to sort of "stretch my mind" a little bit. Of course the first thing I did was accidently link my blog here to my work blog NOT what I wanted to do. I have to go back and fix that.
So the first thing was to find a name for it - I love words - I love reading about old words, or unusual words. I am sure the word "Anfractuosity" isn't going to roll off of anyone's tongue, but then I am not doing this for anyone else, just me. So - "This refers to a channel, crevice or passage full of windings and turnings, not quite a maze, though some mazes certainly take on an anfractuous appearance, one that is sinuous or winding." This immediatly made me think of a brain, and all the thoughts in mine that don't always make sense or go together. So that seemed like the perfect blog name, until I find a cooler word anyhow :)
When I was looking for cool words I also found "calenture" and the poem from Jonathen Swift. I love the picture it paints in my mind. It makes me think of Narnia, like what that sailor is seeing is real - it is the rest of us who don't see it. Apparently the poem was making fun of "the infamous speculative South Sea Bubble of that year." I am going to have to look that up - that is another thing I love, strange stories, all the better if it isn't something that you can find all over the internet already.
