What are bark wall finishes?Bark wall finishes were designed and first manufactured by Bark House company co-founder Marty McCurry.  They are made from the most recognizable outer-layer of the tree.  The bark of birch, cherry, pine, and poplar trees is carefully removed after the tree is harvested as part of the Appalachian forest re-growth project.  That outer layer is then handcrafted to exacting specifications using regenerative-manufacturing practices, and wall panels are made to standard sizes for easy installation.  Bark House® brand bark wall coverings are beautiful.  They are also thoughtfully made (100% in the US) to create nurturing spaces for inhabitants worldwide while improving forests and supporting families in Appalachia.What is bark siding?Bark House® Poplar Bark Siding is crafted from the peeled bark of Tulip Poplar Trees (Liriodendron tulipifera). The bark, which is historically a waste product in lumber operations, is harvested to become exterior siding (or interior wall tiles) before the logs reach the mill.
