Statement regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic:With the current situation surrounding the global pandemic COVID-19, AIFIS diligently follows the instructions received from appropriategovernment agencies in the United States and Indonesia.Many, but not all, AIFIS fellows in Indonesia have chosen to return to the United States or are postponing their research travels to Indonesia. AIFIS still plans to announce the call for applications to its 2020 AIFIS-CAORC Fellowships this summer. Depending on the future situation, however, AIFIS fellowship recipients may or may not need to postpone their research fellowship travels until after the Fall of 2020 or early next year in 2021. For further information, or if you have any questions, please reach out toaifis@aifis.org.Promoting cross-cultural understanding and scholarly exchange through academic research and collaborationsThe American Institute for Indonesian Studies (AIFIS) fosters scholarly collaborations between Indonesian and American scholars and researchers.
