Penny Taylor

Senior Consultant

Penny is one of the newest members of the Atiigo team and brings with her not only an extensive inventory of business expertise, but also a positive “can do” attitude coupled with a collaborative, solutions based approach to tackling work.

Penny spent the first seven years of her career in marketing and advertising in both Toronto and Halifax. In 2002 she jumped at the opportunity to work as the Communications Manager with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Culture and Heritage. Working on numerous community based initiatives such as on Elder and youth programs, language and heritage preservation and promotion, as well as helping support the establishment and promotion of the Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit Division and the first Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit Katimajiit, she gained a deep appreciation of northern culture and a passion to protect it. Her proudest accomplishment was being the communications lead for Our Land, Contemporary Art from the Arctic, the first exhibit of its kind to travel outside Canada.  In 2006 Penny relocated to Calgary where she worked for The City of Calgary for twelve years in a number of roles including communications, human resources, learning and development, people and culture, organizational transformation and business strategy. In late 2017, Penny decided to shift career gears and moved into the consulting world and return to her love of working in the north.

Penny will be the lead for communications and strategic planning and design and event management.
