The large roadless area where rivers flow free, big lakes and oceans lap against wild shores and animals of diverse species roam as they have for thousands of years.
What is our Vision?
Our vision is to keep at least half of Canada's public land and water wild forever. We are realizing this vision by supporting wilderness conservation campaigns across Canada.
The Big Wild helps these campaigns by,
educating people about the urgent need to protect one of the world’s last remaining wilderness areas – which amounts to 20% of all that’s left on the planet
raising funds for wilderness protection
enabling people to show decision-makers they support wilderness protection
Who is The Big Wild?
Well, it’s you, me and every person across Canada and around the world, who cares about conserving our environment. Since one person is seldom heard in our hectic world, The Big Wild is a collective voice that will be heard across the country and hopefully around the world.
Founded by MEC and the CPAWS, The Big Wild is a conservation movement that makes it easy for you to stand up for wilderness protection campaigns. Join usin calling on decision makers to protect at least half of Canada’s precious public land and water forever.Do something small to save something big.
The Big Wild Infographic
We’ve put together a fun, one-stop shop of facts about conservation in North America, beginning with how wild Canadians are compared to the rest of the continent.
