Blackrock connects to Pleasant Valley via a Transition zone, and to Timberwolf Mountain via a cave system.
BLACKROCK
A federal penitentiary on the edge of the world, for years Blackrock has held the mainland's worst criminals. The stage for Episode Four and Mackenzie's harrowing conflict with Mathis and his band of convicts, we've now brought Blackrock region to Survival Mode. Explore the destroyed prison, look for supplies in the Mine or Power Plant, and navigate the Steam Tunnels. Blackrock's addition to Survival brings the total playable world to 55 square kilometres. Watch out for Timberwolves! (Connects to Pleasant Valley and Timberwolf Mountain.)
NEW GEAR ITEMS
NOISEMAKER
An empty Can, a strip of Cloth for a wick, and a bit of Gunpowder, and you have one of the most effective wolf deterrents around. Particularly useful in breaking Timberwolf Pack Morale, the Noisemaker can be crafted at the Ammunition Bench.
BALLISTIC VEST
Sadly, the Blackrock prison guard this belonged to can't use it anymore. The Ballistic Vest is the first protective gear item in the game. It's heavy and will slow you down, but offers the strongest protection against wildlife attacks. It's a trade-off that might save your life.
QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS
We’ve made some quality of life improvements to the game including making Crampons repairable, and a new piece of soundtrack music, along with many bug fixes.
