Solarize Blacksburgis a partnership between the non-profits Community Housing Partners and VA SUN, and Blacksburg’s solar advocates and installers. By working together as a community, we’re making solar easier and more affordable than ever. We’ve lined up the equipment, the installers, and the financing. And by going solar as a community, we’re able to tap into the power of bulk purchasing to get the best prices on solar installations that Blacksburg has ever seen.

The first phase of Solarize Blacksburg is winding down - last day to sign up is May 31st! Hundreds of people in Blacksburg have raised their hands to find out if solar will work for them. Now many folks are looking at the nuts and bolts (and dollars) of the proposals they've received and are trying to make a decision.

On June 3rd we're inviting you to join us to 1) celebrate the amazing success of this program and 2) offer everyone a chance to ask the installers any question they might have. Anya Schoolman, Director of the Community Power Network and one of President Obama's "Champions of Change" will also be in attendance to help us celebrate! Refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres served.
