International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders - IFSO2022

Dear IFSO Members, Dear Colleagues,

THANK YOUall very much for your continuous support and participation in IFSO's activities throughout 2020, 2021, and the first months of 2022.

The last two years have been a very tough period for all of us. The pandemic has challenged our lives in each and every aspect, but the vaccine has finally brought all of us out of the tunnel.

As you know, we were forced to postpone twice the XXV IFSO World Congress in Miami in order to enable all our members to attend and to get together again. Initially, the pandemic, and then the travel restrictions from some countries prevented all our members from being there. The Silver Anniversary of the IFSO World Congress wouldn't have been the same without some of our members. So we waited one more year to give everyone the opportunity to be there.

The scientific program will be even more interesting: ASMBS will participate with us with its two tracks, the biggest international organizations dealing with Obesity: WOF, WGO, and ISPCOP will have their sessions, IFSO LAC will organize their sessions in Spanish and Portuguese and IFSO APC will organize a session in the Mandarin language. IFSO EC, IFSO NAC, and IFSO MENAC will host their sessions as well.

In one word: IFSO 2022 MIAMI will remain the biggest appointment for anyone working in the field of obesity surgery.

ABSTRACTS

All the abstracts that were accepted in 2021 will be presented at the congress and published in Obesity Surgery Journal this year. If you want to withdraw your previous abstract(s), send an updated version, or submit new ones, you can do so by April 25th. REGISTRATION

If you were already registered last year, the local organizing secretariat will simply keep your registration intact.

If you haven't registered yet, bear in mind that the discounted fees will end on May 29th, so please do not forget this deadline!

HOTEL

If you reserved your hotel stay last year you were refunded for your reservation in 2020. If you have any questions, please contact the hotel. You will need to reserve your room at the Fontainebleau Hotel this year at the same conference room rate. If you haven't booked it yet, please keep in mind that you can do so by July 25th.
