Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy ServicesWho we areThe Uncommon Thread (TUT) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the lives of New Jersey children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Wehave been providing services to families, school districts, private preschools, camps and communities since 2007.
Our mission is to help our clients reach their greatest potential by providing comprehensive ABA therapy. The Uncommon Thread is not a destination, but rather a pathway to a more independent life. Improved outcomes and the commitment of our founders set us apart.
Covid-19 screenerFocused on keeping friends and family healthy Continued success despite pandemicTUT continues to safely provide life changing ABA therapy amid COVID-19 - TUTs 4 phase approach to reopening our center doors was a huge success. TUT now has the largest clinical staff in its history with 3 Clinical Directors, 43 BCBAs and over 100 ABA therapists and RBTs. Five TUT BCBAs have been promoted to Senior BCBAs and TUT continues to hire and train talented, dedicated people that long to make a difference in the life of a child.Exciting things are always happening in the Clinical Department of The Uncommon Thread! TUT is proud to announce the creation of the new Senior BCBA position. This role will expand the clinical support that TUT offers as well as provide career advancement opportunities for seasoned BCBAs. Recently, five deserving BCBAs were promoted to Senior BCBA positions. This elite group will perform dual roles at TUT. While carrying a reduced caseload, the Senior BCBA will provide direct support, collaboration, and hands-on mentorship to TUT BCBAs. In addition, the Senior BCBA will work in conjunction with Clinical Directors and Case Managers to place more focus on assisting BCBAs who have students that require more intensive clinical support. This new role will certainly enhance the effectiveness of our clinical staff, and more importantly, ensure better outcomes for the children and families we all serve.TUT has launched theBridges Preschool and Kindergarten Readiness program!This transition classroom provides our students the opportunity to follow a "typical" preschool model and prepare them for kindergarten. The enhancement of social skills is paramount, and these students learn in small groups and follow more group instruction with less discrete trial teaching. The class facilitates social interaction throughout the day, ABA goals are embedded in separate areas of the classroom and all is overseen by a certified teacher and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)TUT's Professional Development Academy continues to expand ensuring our staff provides the highest quality services, translating into the greatest outcomes for our clientsTUT has partnered with Relias an organization dedicated to training ABA professionals to improve performance and quality outcomes for the clients they serve.Relias will provide TUT with a robust learning management system within which all clinical staff can enroll themselves and access video-based educational modules (on demand) in ABA and related disciplinesTUT Technician Training was recently rolled out as a targeted training program for Behavior Technicians. Acknowledging the importance of highly skilled Behavior Technicians, TUT Technician Training provides the content and structure for a BCBA to efficiently train a Behavior Technician to meet BACB established performance standards. Moreover, it affords a BCBA the flexibility to pivot the focus of training to suit the nuanced needs of their client allowing for more strategic and targeted training.TUT is currently serving 20 school districts in New Jersey TUT continues to provide education to Developmental Pediatricians, Neurologists, and related medical staff in autism treatment.
