Welcome to Sutton Tuition and Reintegration Service (STARS)STARS is a medical pupil referral unit for children and young people with complex medical needs. The service operates over a number of sites in Sutton. We also have a schoolroom at the Royal Marsden Hospital and provide bedside teaching at Queen Mary's Hospital for Children.The service is based at the Drapers Centre in Carshalton. Keeping Children Safe New guidance issued today: 'Advice to parents and carers on keeping children safe from abuse and harm'Brings together sources of information about the main risks children may be particularly vulnerable to during the pandemic and signposts to available help and support. Vision Statement STARS' vision is: To work closely with our multi-agency partners, providing outstanding learning and teaching through relevant, enjoyable educational experiences for every pupil, every session, every day.Safeguarding StatementSutton Tuition and Reintegration Service takes all aspects of safeguarding and child protection seriously. The health, safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. We expect all staff, members of our Management Committee and volunteers to share this commitment and be fully aware of their responsibilities.We have robust recruitment and child protection policies in place as well as behaviour policies and a staff Code of Conduct. All staff are trained appropriately in child protection, safeguarding, PREVENT and relevant staff trained in safer recruitment. We audit our compliance annually with support from the Local Authority.Our safeguarding policy ensures that all members of the school community:Are aware of their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and child protection.Know the procedures that should be followed if they have a cause for concern.Know where to go to find additional information regarding safeguarding.Are aware of the key indicators relating to child abuse.Fully support the School's commitment to safeguarding and child protection.STARS has five members of staff on the Designated Safeguarding team.
