Online English Lessons for Beginners and Intermediates This is a great shock to many learners who have never spent much time in English-speaking countries. We build the shock into our method, getting our students ready for the real world. In short, our students learn real English from the very beginning. Real English is an online video library of spontaneous dialogues of people interviewed on the streets of English-speaking countries, organized according to grammatical, lexical, and functional criteria used in the interactive exercises. There are always 2 versions in the lessons, one without and one with Subtitles. Students are told many times to watch the one without subtitles if they want to learn to speak, and not just to read! In other words, Real English is based on a very simple idea, the organization and exploitation of spontaneous speech. There are no actors in Real English . Students identify with ordinary people, i.e., the famous interviewees, given the magnetic quality of the people chosen to appear and speak in our clips. Comprehension of the spoken word and real English conversation comes naturally to learners, after spending time with our videos and exercises on a regular basis.
