NAE to Transition the Management of the Online Ethics Center to University of Virginia The National Academy of Engineering will transition the Online NAE to Transition the Management of the Online Ethics Center to University of Virginia The National Academy of Engineering will transition the Online Ethics Center for Engineering and Science (OEC) to the University of Virginia effective October 1, 2020.Since 2007 the NAE has managed the OEC and expanded its resources and reach as well as the active engagement of the community. The OEC has provided engineers, scientists, faculty, and students with resources for understanding and addressing ethically significant issues that arise in scientific and engineering practice and from the developments of science and engineering. It has also served those who promote learning and advance understanding of responsible research and practice in engineering and science.At the University of Virginia, with the current funding from the National Science Foundation the OEC will continue to host the vast library of online ethics resources and to serve the community.With ongoing program changes, NAE will not be supporting OEC effective September 30, 2020.
