Welcome to our website! My name is Marty Grant. I created thiswebsite to share my genealogical research with family and fellowresearchers. I have been researching my ancestry since 1980, and mywife Karla's since 1987.My father's ancestry is primarily from North Carolina, SouthCarolina, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee, with some ancestry inPennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey (these last three places I havedone very little research in). His ancestors came to America primarilyfrom Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Germany and Portugal. My mother's ancestry is primarily from Marion County, South Carolinaas well as neighboring Horry County, South Carolina. She also hasancestors from Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, Lenoir, Onslow and WayneCounties, North Carolina. Her ancestors appear to have mainlyoriginated in Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. My ancestors were mostly Europeans. I have a few from Africa, and Ihave some alleged Native American ancestry (Cherokee), but I have yetto prove that.Karla's father's ancestors were primarily from Pennsylvania,Virginia, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, Ohio, Tennessee and Missouri,and generally of Anglo and Germanic origin.Karla's mother's ancestors were primarily from Iowa, Wisconsin,North Dakota, South Dakota and Washington.
