American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is a not-for-profit professional society established in 1976 whose volunteer membership consists of private, fee-paid home inspectors. ASHI's objectives include the promotion of excellence within the profession and continual improvement of its members' inspection services to the public.

The Long Island chapter of ASHI (LI ASHI) is a not-for-profit corporation that was formed in 1997 to meet the specific needs of ASHI members and home inspectors working on Long Island.

Over 40% of our local collected dues are donated to NYSAHI, a not-for-profit statewide organization dedicated to protecting the interests of New York State home inspector members in NYS legislation. To that end, most of NYSAHI's expenses are paid to a professional lobbyist to promote our agenda in the NYS legislature.
