This special parcel tax will start appearing on local property tax bills this year. If you are a low income senior you may qualify for an exemption, but you must apply. Exemption forms are available on the website safecleanwaterla.org, at City Hall, and the Community Center. Exemption Procedures and Guidelines/Application Form (9.26.2019) Lawndale Residents May Qualify for a Measure CL Tax Exemption on their 2019/20 Property Tax Bill On November 6, 2012, Los Angeles County voters in the Lawndale, Hawthorne, Wiseburn, Lennox and Centinela Valley school districts approved Measure CL, a Local Classrooms Funding Authority parcel tax intended to generate approximately $11 million per year. Residents who own a single family house or condominium in Lawndale may be eligible for a Measure CL tax exemption if you fall into the category of a senior citizen over age 65 or if you qualify for a disability exemption. The deadline to file for an exemption is June 30 of each year. However, you do not have to reapply each year once you begin receiving the exemption. Exemption applications are available at each elementary school district office, Lawndale City Hall, Lawndale Community Center, Lawndale Library, Wiseburn Library and Lennox Senior Center.
