Another very nice and interesting Blancpain for sale, the reference 1185F-1130-71 Flyback Chronograph. A distinguished yet sporty watch from a classy brand and with an interesting movement. Beautifully sized at 38 mm, if youre not into those huge watches anymore as well that is of course. The price for this watch is € 3.200,= (plus SI). For sale at our shop Horloge Platform Nederland, a Chopard Gran Turismo XL limited edition to commemorate the 1000 Miglia of 2006. This is a very attractive version of the Chopard Gran Turismo XL of which only 2006 pieces have been produced. The Chopard reference number of this watch is 16/8458, and the watch measures 44 mm. Its not very common, as far as I know, to openly offer a high end watch brand for sale. So I was amazed by an advertisement at a Dutch website. Well, in fact its not just the brand Julien Coudray which is offered for sale for more than € 5M at the www.bedrijventekoop.nl website, its the watchmaking atelier behind it. A befriended collector owes both, a GMT-Master II and an Explorer II with white dial. He mentioned that he prefers the white dial of the Explorer-II however found the Pepsi bezel of his GMT-Master II quite useful. Therefor he had a Rolex specialized watchmaker over here in The Netherlands change the movements, complete with dial and hands. While owning both watches, this was the most versatile solution. Baselworld 2014 is almost at an end. Its not strange that visiting the largest and most influential watch fair in the world is strenuous. However to me it seems that this year I heard more complaints about it being extremely hectic than other years. Mind you, the fair grounds are HUGE. Just walking though hall 1.0, including 1.1 and 1.2, will take you over an hour just walking, not even looking into the booths And then theres hall 2.0 and 2.1; slightly smaller in surface space however still itll take you over three quarters of an hour only...

Baselworld for many is a fair of high-end watches, either being big brand names like Patek Philippe or independent Manufacturers like MBF. However I cant help stopping by Casio each year in order to see the new G-Shocks as well. Being a G-Shock fan and collector myself, its a good opportunity to see new models which never might hit my local (Dutch) market, and so will be difficult to see for real later on. My taste in G-Shocks seems little upstream. The ones I like are mainly the simple squares, not being the commercially most attractive or successful. This...

For 2014 Tudor has four novelties; three new watches/lines and a book on the history of the brand. Of course the blue bezelled version of the Black Bay is nice and certainly a different appearance compared to the burgundy. However the model which struck me most was the Tudor Ranger. Being a fan of uncomplicated, uncluttered watches this is a model which exactly fits my taste.
