Davis Housing Services is a comprehensive local homestay placement agency for UC Davis and International Center. We are located in the heart of the downtown City of Davis, California.  Our homestay services are for international students.

We are engineers, medical physician, web designers, homemakers, writers, and small business owners, etc. with many unique experiences and backgrounds.  We are also Certified Residential Specialists (CRS), real estates agents, and real estates brokers that are fully licensed and insured to operate and handle many forms of residential leases, contracts, agreements, and transactions in the State of California.

With years of experience in working with international programs, we apply personal attention, professionalism, excellent service to provide international students with a firsthand experience in American multi-cultural  living environment and immersion to English and Davis traditions.

COVID Policy

This COVID policy applies to everyone in homestay including Davis Housing Services staff, host families, and students.

·      DHS staff, host families, and students of age for receiving COVID vaccinations are required to be vaccinated for COVID in order to participate in homestay.

·         Proof of COVID test results and vaccination record must be provided to DHS staff upon request.

·         Students with full vaccination prior to arrival in the United States, and have provided proof of COVID vaccination(s) to DHS, will be placed with their host family upon arrival in Davis, CA. 

·         Students who receive COVID vaccinations less than 14 days prior to arrival in Davis, CA, and have shown proof of vaccination to DHS, must self-sequester at student’s own expense until proof of a negative COVID test result is also shown to DHS (generally 1 – 4 days).

·         Students arriving in Davis, CA without showing proof of the COVID vaccination(s) will be required to self-sequester for a minimum of 7 days in a separate facility (hotel, etc.) at the students own expense (homestay fee for these nights will be prorated). In order to be moved to a host home, please do the following during self-sequestration:

Obtain COVID vaccinationObtain 2 negative COVID test results, one test taken before vaccination, the second test after vaccinationObtain date for second vaccination if needed to complete full COVID vaccination processShow COVID test results and proof of vaccination to DHS

·         After entering homestay, students are required to complete a second dose of COVID vaccine if required and/or any booster dose of vaccine if applicable.

·         During homestay, if either host family or student tests  positive for COVID, homestay will be terminated and student moved to a separate facility at student’s own expense and stipend will be prorated from the date of departure.  When a student shows a new COVID test is negative to DHS, a new host placement will be arranged.

·         Host families and students agree to participate in homestay at their own risk and liability, and also agree to hold harmless and release all liabilities of Davis Housing Services concerning issues related to COVID.
