Such was the mood of optimism that pervaded the country back then, few doubted India’s newly elected fourteenth prime minister.Modi was India’s latest economic “liberalizer,” and the most notable example of a group of leaders who since 1991 have been dismantling the stultifying bureaucracy erected by the former socialist regime. The goal has been making it easier to do business in India. As champions of free trade, the liberalization program is also included dismantling the tariff barriers protecting the domestic market from foreign competition and allowing foreign firms to integrate Indian labor into their global supply chains. After playing Jesus in Mel Gibson’s blockbuster film The Passion of the Christ, actor Jim Caviezel became the poster boy for Catholics who wanted to use the film to share their faith. Playing that role also got Caviezel blacklisted from Hollywood films. In 2011, Caviezel told First Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida that he had “been rejected by my own industry” after playing Christ in Gibson’s film. Responding to Gibson’s warning that “you’ll never work in this town again,” Caviezel said, “we all have to embrace our crosses,” and went ahead with the role, only to learn that “Jesus is as controversial now as he has ever been” and that “not much has changed in 2,000 years.” Seven years after the release of The Passion of the Christ, Caviezel tried to put a Christian interpretation on the wreck of his career by claiming that “we have to give up our names, our reputations, our lives to speak the truth." On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan launched a military attack on the Armenian ethnic enclave known as Nagorno-Karabakh.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was quick to blame Turkey for Azerbaijan’s actions:The Turkish Armed Forces are directly involved in hostilities. President Recep Erdogan dreams of rebuilding the Ottoman Empire, which destroyed its Armenian population during the First World War. One hundred years later, Turkey returned to the South Caucasus to continue the Armenian genocide. With the help of Turkey, terrorists who have come from the Middle East to Nagorno-Karabakh are fighting on side of Azerbaijan. How can someone suggest leaving the population of Nagorno-Karabakh defenseless in the face of terrorists and extremists? A truce can only be achieved if Turkey is forced to withdraw from the South Caucasus. America at this time is at the cusp of a great upheaval. I’m not speaking of COVID-19, riots, looting or arson; while they are all symptoms of what is to come, they are only the precursors of coming events. Obama promised to transform America and all was started in his administration. Argentina has been quarantined more than 160 days since early March 2020 to fight the so called COVID-19 pandemic, an undeclared etat d’siege which none of the military dictatorships in its history dared enforce. In violation of constitutional law, the present quarantine has done away with basic constitutional rights and liberties by means of an illegal executive order from President Alberto Fernandez, the corrupt Peronist chameleonic alter ego of Cristina Wilhelm Fernández de Kirchner, alias “the thief” (la ladrona), former president of the country in 2007-2015, who now presides the Senate and still has to face the tribunals, criminally accused of laundering and stealing billions of dollars from the Argentine State in her previous administration. Edmund Mazza begins The Scholastics and the Jews: Coexistence, Conversion, and the Medieval Origins of Tolerance by citing what he calls Jeremy Cohen’s “classic work,” The Friars and the Jews, in which Cohen argues that “the Dominicans and Franciscans developed, refined, and sought to implement a new Christian ideology with regard to the Jews, one that allotted the Jews no legitimate right to exist in European society.”[1] That “new Christian ideology” involved “an organized and aggressive mission to the Jews.” And what was involved in this form of aggression? Raymond of Penaforte, then general of the Dominican order, “committed himself to making contemporary Jews believing Christians.”[2] Working for the conversion of the Jews as a way of bringing about their eternal salvation qualifies in Cohen’s mind as “stirring up hatred against Jews.”[3] Full of rage at the very idea of conversion, Cohen concludes his diatribe against Raymond of Penaforte by claiming that “This Jew-hater was later made a saint.”[4] The tragedy of Venezuela could become a hemispheric tragedy. Little is known about the strong connections between the subversive movements working within the USA, financers, the subversive governments and movements in Spanish America, and the new world Powers which the plutocrats have been puffing up since the end of World War II. Some point out one side of these connections, but few comprehend the whole network and the real goals they are after. We will try to unveil to some extent such connections and goals. We will also try to warn the American public concerning the immeasurable threat which is very likely being positioned in Cuba. “Be strong in battle,” we are told. But what sort of battles, and what does that strength look like in practice? And what does the canon law of the Catholic Church have to do with it? Does the history of rights and law in the Catholic Church have anything to offer in today’s spiritual and cultural crises? In a word, yes. This ought to give us hope during these tumultuous days, where there is little doubt of “spiritual and cultural warfare.” It is now an acknowledged fact that most revolutions resulted in anti-Christian persecutions. No historian dares deny this fact, even those on the far left. One only needs to think of the Spanish Revolution of 1936 that led to the Civil War or the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 that caused millions of deaths. The case of the French Revolution has also been well documented and the memory of those painful years is still entertained by faithful French Catholics who recently erected a monument in honor of the 300 nuns who were massacred in the French City of Orange in the Revolution’s aftermath. An American theologian whose name you would recognize told me years ago to avoid commenting on Medjugorje, calling it “a giant tar baby,” i.e., everyone who touches it gets covered in sticky tar. There is wisdom to the advice as adherents tend overwhelmingly to be impervious to contrary evidence, hell bent on convincing you that the Gospa (Croatian for “our Lady”) is appearing there, and insistent that you accept this. They meet Churchill’s definition of a fanatic: one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject. The Trayvon Hoax: Unmasking the Witness Fraud that Divided America is a 2017 documentary by American author Joel Gilbert occasioned by the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida in 2012. The shooting led to the creation of Black Lives Matter and touched off a wave of violent protest that continues to this day. Gilbert noticed discrepancies in the trial record and decided to dig deeper. What he found suggests that the George Floyd case can only be understood in light of what Gilbert calls the “Trayvon Hoax.” America went through its own bout of Dionysian intoxication in the days following May 25, when a Minneapolis cop by the name of Derek Chauvin knelt on the neck of a 46-year-old Black man by the name of George Floyd, causing his death. Corrupted by 66 years of bad education, America’s Black Lumpenproletariat erupted in an orgy of rioting that brought the rule of law to an end in many of America’s large cities. As of this writing, Antifa, a group which Donald Trump has designated a domestic terrorist organization, is still in control of a six-square block section of downtown Seattle, which they have designated the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.” In Minneapolis, the town where the rioting started, their Pentheus, Mayor Jacob Frey, was denounced by one of the Bacchant women who spoke in the name of Black Lives Matter after he refused to defund the Minneapolis police department. Frey was not torn limb from limb, but he was expelled from the crowd and had to take refuge with the police he was ordered to defund. Streatham has something of an identity crisis. She’s greener than Brixton but not quite as edgy. Though statelier and leafier than Clapham, without a Tube connection she’s just a little cut off from the center. You can don your wellies and waxed raincoat and take your dog for a walk on the common – you’re in the country, but with a clear view of the city. She used to be in Surrey but feels even grander as a metropolitan suburb of London, with the “architectural merit”1 of 19th century gentrification… We live in a time of desecration. We also live in a time when people are seeking or offering Redemption precisely through such acts of desecration. In order for something to be desecrated, it has to have been in some sense sacred or consecrated. As I write, antinomian iconoclastic mobs are seeking to desecrate that of which they disapprove, including a statue of St. Louis in Missouri.1 For them, a godless and immanent Redemption is achievable or already secure, not through worthy reception of Divine Grace, but through a kind of moral athleticism of destruction without the need of moral standards from which they believe themselves largely exempt. There is no question that Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa are essentially pernicious movements which seek opportunities or “good crises” to disrupt the social order. In fact, the movements themselves were not formed on the basis of practical reason. As we shall see, both movements can easily be placed under the umbrella of the Jewish revolutionary project, a categorically diabolical activity which has been around for centuries.1 After the victory over communism, we need a split of Orthodoxy and the breakdown of Russia, and Ukraine, where betrayal is the norm of public morality, will help us in this. (American political scientist Zbigniew Brzezinski, “The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives,” 1997.) The battle over the statue began as an exercise in identity politics, and before long it degenerated into an example of identity theft. The main protagonist in this story is Umar Lee, who was born Bret Darran Lee in 1974 to a southern Presbyterian family and grew up in Florissant, Missouri just outside St. Louis. Lee may or may not be Black, which is an ideological marker based upon but independent of biological fact, because he claims, according to The Jerusalem Post that he “has two younger siblings who are half African-American.”[1] Up until the publication of Sir Charles Lyell’s grand work on the Principles of Geology in 1830,[1] geologists held that the earth had been convulsed, in the not-too-distant past, by immense forces, orders of magnitude greater than those acting today. The upheavals had caused the sea to transgress over land and vice versa not once but several times. Early geologists, in a word, were catastrophists. They held that the earth’s violent motions had produced prodigious quantities of heat; that thousands of cubic miles of water had evaporated from the oceans and re-precipitated, after cooling, into torrential rains that had washed millions of tons of soil into the sea; that the earth’s rotational axis had repeatedly tilted, on occasions causing the poles to change place with one another, etc. What such early geologists could not do was to assign a reasonable cause for their catastrophes: no force originating from within the earth could possibly cause its upturning.[2] If you can contract Covid-19 more than once, can someone please tell me what good a vaccine is going to do? Anyone can see the war is on.A crucial weapon in the attack is Roundup (glyphosate), a widely used herbicide that’s being used for something for which there was never any long-term safety-testing: the forced ripening of crops, called desiccation. This practice all but guarantees that this pesticide will wind up in our food,[1] as well as the animal byproducts that are used in vaccines.[2] It also happens to be a highly questionable agronomic practice.[3] Pope John Paul II ignored the rise of the homosexual mafia in the Catholic Church. When Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger became his successor, the problem had become too big to ignore. As Pope Benedict, he tried to rein in the homosexual mafia in the Church: Ratzinger’s resignation tarnished the legacy of Pope John Paul II, who valiantly held the line on sexual morality, and emboldened those cardinals who had been longing since 1978 to make a separate peace with the American empire’s promotion of sexual liberation. God has a plan for your life. You've probably heard me say this before. I've talked about my own life, about how getting fired from my job as an assistant professor at St. Mary's College was the best thing that ever happened to me, even though it didn't seem that way at the time. I've written a long book called Logos Rising: A History of Ultimate Reality which claims that there is a plan for all of human history. Yet sometimes I wonder if that plan is a category of reality or a category of the mind, my mind. Bishop Rhoades was inspired to write his statement after attending a “Violins of Hope” inter-faith prayer service at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, celebrating the arrival of “violins that were played by Jewish prisoners at concentration camps during the Holocaust.” Listening to those violins brought tears “of both sadness and joy” to Bishop Rhoades’ eyes. He felt “joy at the love we share as brothers and sisters, drawn together by a common spiritual patrimony” but sadness at the “rise in recent years of anti-Jewish and anti-Semitic rhetoric in our society,” as well as “incidents of violence incited by hateful speech about Jews.”[15] The town of Echt, close to the southern tip of Holland, has a Carmelite convent and a railway station. It was from here, in 1942, that Sister Teresia Benedicta a Cruce (born Edith Stein) was taken by the Gestapo to her death at Auschwitz, following a statement by the Dutch bishops denouncing the Nazi invaders’ treatment of the Jews. She had just that morning finished writingThe Science of the Cross. “We go for our people,” she is said to have told her sister Rosa, who had joined her in the Carmel, and who with Edith and 40,000 other Jewish converts to Christianity were killed in the Nazis’ monumental act of spite. This is the first Sunday with no public Masses. The new Archbishop of Southwark, the Right Reverend John Wilson, wrote on Wednesday:A major change is the cessation of public celebrations of the Mass and the dispensation of the Obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days. We will, however, endeavour to keep our churches open wherever possible so that those who wish can visit to pray before the Blessed Sacrament.[1] In an article which appeared on the First Things website, entitled “Epidemic Danger and Catholic Sacraments,” Rev. Thomas Joseph White denounced anyone who had doubts about the state’s quarantine measures as exhibiting “a misbegotten exaggerated libertarianism,” as well as “exaggerated individualism, magical thinking that ignores scientific evidence, and religiously rationalized narcissism.” White then claims that his position is “based on a basic given of natural law. The state has a fundamental obligation to protect human life, especially when it is gravely threatened” as long as it follows “both traditional, time-tested procedure and proven scientific advice.” Anyone who claims that public health measures may impede “civic flourishing” is “scientifically unrealistic and ethically irresponsible.” There are forces using this virus for ulterior moves and creating a global economic collapse. They are dangerously undermining the entire world financial system, which threatens the rise of war. Over the course of 2019 the Jews lost control of the narrative in America. When Jews lose control they get upset, because, in a world without logos, the only order is the order they impose on the rest of us, a group known as the goyim, whom, Jews believe, have a natural tendency toward anti-Semitism. When the Jew loses control, he thinks the world is out to get him, and when he thinks the world is out to get him, his thoughts turn to murder. As a result, we are now being subjected to one paranoid Jewish fantasy after another advocating murder as the solution to what they perceive as the problem of anti-Semitism. On February 19, 2020, Bishop Kevin Rhoades wrote a statement for his Fort Wayne-South Bend, IN diocese regarding how Catholics are to relate to Jews. Seeking collaboration in human affairs, however, often spills over into religious issues about which Christians and Jews are naturally at odds. It is a tough road for those who are seeking human friendship to wade through the rough waters inherent in spiritual matters. Over the last 70 years or so, various Catholic and Jews have attempted to forge these deep waters. Unfortunately, they find the pathway strewn with the dead bodies of compromise, contradiction and confusion. As a case in point, let us delve into the bishop’s efforts to give it another try. Once again, a sudden gain by a minority party is being hailed as a landslide victory – even though it is nothing of the sort. A cursory glance at the election results makes it clear that the numbers don’t add up: Sinn Féin now has 37 seats, one less than Fianna Fail and two more than Fine Gael. So the boring old middle-of-the-road Establishment parties, who have been in power since the foundation of the State and spent the past four years in a symbiotic “Confidence Supply” relationship, have fifty percent of the vote. This figure, coupled with the widespread, publicly expressed disillusionment with the Government, implies that the vote for Sinn Féin was merely a protest vote – and that a cautious 50 percent of voters actually voted against Sinn Féin. Pestilence is portrayed in scripture as a punishment for sin. Yahweh forgave David after he committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband Uriah killed to cover up his original sin, but after David caved into the pride of the Israelites and decreed a census, the punishment which had been postponed became inevitable. But even here God relented and attempted to mitigate the punishment by giving David a choice. In the name of Yahweh, Gad the prophet offered the king a choice between three years of famine, “fleeing for three months from your pursuing enemy,” or three days of pestilence. Confronted with these options, David is forced to admit: “This is a hard choice. But let us rather fall into the power of Yahweh, since his mercy is great, and not into the power of men. So David chose pestilence” (2 Sam 24:14-5).
